Obama had drawn an imaginary red line in the sands of Syria, saying that should he receive conclusive proof that they - the Assad regime - used chemical weapons on the own people - the rebels and troops coming in from other countries - the US would become involved in the battle to oust Assad!

All of us some form or another of the proverbial line in the sand. and that is what this poll is about.

Where is you line in the sand regarding the following issues - violent movies, vulgar language movies and television shows, soft porn, suggested sex acts, offensive comments , negative dialog about Jesus, sexism, racism, gay issues and sex?

When do you turn of the television , computer, or walk out of the theater because you line in the sand has been crossed?

Obama's line was made with vanishing ink.

There is a difference between principle and conviction.

I have a few basic convictions: I will guard my eyes and heart as best as possible; I will support in any way my wife's needs 'til death do us part; I will serve and love the Lord Jesus Christ for He first served and loved me; I will cast any and all rewards at His feet for without Him I did not nor can do anything worthy of His mercy and grace awarded to me.

I have many life principles: Therefore, Yes, I would "turn of the television , computer, or walk out of the theater because you(r) line in the sand has been crossed?" and have done.

All these things even apply to my family life even, im not married however I have to be careful when i visit my family as they are not saved and throw out blasphemy's all the time. So I limit my time with them even. I say this not to boast but rather I think its important that we separate ourselves from world even our own families, and use the time together for witnessing to them and showing Gods love to them.

PS: Showing Gods love I do still fits in with the idea of being separated from the world at times. At least for my own self so I don't feel temptation or pulled to sin. Hard to be a good witness when your focus is all messed up.

Just my 2 cents anyway. :)

I neglected your list, RighteousDude2, not because of not wanting to respond, but I suppose, at my age, I find so many of the things you listed as "vexing my soul," and there are believers on the BB who have no such exercise of the Holy Spirit with in them on these matters.

There are threads that show that not only do some have no problem in participation, but actually glory in the freedom of which they boast. I have no desire to be demeaned by those of such foolishness.

I grieve that I was not more diligent in my youth, and more guarded in every aspect. That I was too busy chasing after entertainment than in following Christ. That a dear friend and family member of the past has their blood on my hands.

    I understand...

...and I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. I think you make a valid point. In youth, we think these things will not bother us. After all, it is merely entertainment, and we can turn it off whenever we want, in the mind and heart; completely oblivious to the deep-seated harm such overt and subtle things said and seen actually have an effect on us and our walk.

It took courage for you to be so transparent and candid. I only hope those that have a line that they cross with wanton regard, hear you cry from the wilderness, and make a change before, like you, someone's blood stains their hands forever!

    Shalom my "Aged" friend!

Well said, Brother. Thank you, Agedman for your testimony.

As time has grown shorter for my time on earth, it has been necessary to draw even more lines in the sand. For many on your list, the need to actually draw lines didn't exist 40-50 years ago. Not as it does today. But, society has kept moving "the line" further and further away from what is acceptable in the eyes of God. For example, lines weren't needed when watching 1 of 3 available stations on that old black & white TV. Dezi & Lucy slept in twin beds.

I hope that those crossing and moving lines, today, don't have to look back with as many regrets as some of us old folks do. I'm afraid that won't be the case however. History will keep repeating itself, until God closes the final chapter in His Book.

Once again I have no clue as to what is being asked in your poll.

Are you asking, "Is there a line in the sand you would draw on these issues"?

Of course there is. For every one of them.

But you asked, "Where is you (sic) Line in the Sand for the following, and Why?"

after a thread title of: "How Solid is Your Line in the Sand"?

Honestly, how is one suppose to suss out what you are saying?
