Todd friel went over open air preaching in regards to quotes by spurgeon (not sure about the book) but there is no doubt spurgeon loved open air.

But if you are looking for specific information about a book, you can easily find it yourself. :)

Please be advised that the volume you have referenced has been edited to be modern English. Don't know if that matters to you. Again, some editions on Amazon have been edited to be shorter, though this one is not. You can tell by looking where they list page numbers. My version from Eerdmans, 1963, has 319 pages.

As to what it says about street preaching, you'll have to judge that for yourself. I haven't read it in a long time, but I don't think he tries to make a case for any particular method. Rather, his purpose is to encourage soul winning in general.

Glancing through ch. 8, "How to Win Souls for Christ," he does touch on the subject, saying, "An open-air preacher, who has to go out quite alone, must be in a very unfortunate position" (p. 175 in my version). Then he discusses that point a little.

to him, open air sidewalk preaching was "real deal", as he required all of those youing pastors/preachers to do it!
