I wish someone could explain to me why the US continues to support policies/regimes that don't protect Christians.

    Iraq:

    Egypt:

Now we are supporting the rebels in Syria, who do not appear to be as accomodating to Christians as Assad - admittedly a despot - is:

(Actually, the same can be said for the Jewish community)

    I just don't get it.....

Are they doing background checks before they give them weapons?

Thanks, Poncho. I think that Putin is involved on behalf of Al Asaad because of the Orthodox church in Syria. I don't know why McCain thinks that he should be involved. I am part of the 80% of Americans who do not want us involved in this Middle Eastern war. We already let radicals take Egypt. Clearly Jordan is threatened if Al Asaad falls, as is Saudi Arabia.

I wrote my Senators about this the other day. On most issues I agree and support my senators but Sen Shelby and I disagree in this case. I think, based on his answer, that he feels the Syrian Rebels are our allies and we should support them.

I disagree. But writing Congress is the best way to let our elected officials know what we think.

It's easier to make sense of once you realize that companies like Lockheed Martin, Rayteon and General Electric are addicted to war profits and they use them to butter the politician's bread and the politicians are addicted to butter.

Why Is The U.S. Arming Rebels That Eat Human Hearts And Massacre Entire Christian Vil

Why would Barack Obama want to help al-Qaeda take over Syria? Why in the world would he want to spend hard-earned U.S. tax dollars to arm jihadist rebels that eat human hearts and massacre entire Christian villages? We have always been told that al-Qaeda is our greatest enemy in the “war on terror”. So now why are we arming them? None of this makes any sense, and the American people are certainly not behind it. In fact, polls have shown that up to 70 percent of the population is against arming the Syrian rebels. What was the whole point of spending more than a trillion dollars on the “war on terror” if we are actually going to start helping al-Qaeda now? Even Russian President Vladimir Putin has pointed out how absurd this all is. And if these rebels are eating human organs and killing off entire Christian villages now, what do they plan to do once they take over and have full control of the Syrian government? That is a very frightening thing to consider.

If anyone still had any doubt about how stupid it would be to arm the Syrian rebels, those doubts should have been erased when a video surfaced that showed a prominent rebel fighter carving open the body of a soldier and eating his heart

I have come to believe that Obama is in bed with or at least sympathetic to Muslim causes. He has downplayed the war on terror and it wouldn't surprise me if he thinks that by helping these rebels, he can get them to be our friends.

There is also a group in the GOP who have this insane desire to meddle into the affairs of the Middle East. John McCain and Lindsey Graham are 2 primary offenders. Apparently Senator Shelby is too, I dunno.

But based on recent history, I don't think they are going to get anything but enmity from these people they give money to. We helped the Libyans and got Benghazi.
We helped the Iraqis and pretty much got kicked out of their country.

We helped the Afghanis and they elected a thug who takes billions from both us and our enemies. Who has criticized us at practically every step. And who now is angry because we are leaving.

I just don't think these Muslim groups' religion will allow them to be our true friends. From what I have read on the subject, Islam tells its followers that its ok to ally with infidals for a short time, take their money, use their military power and influence, but never be true friends with them. And if they wont convert, attack them.

That's what we are dealing with. I'd just as soon our money and weapons stay home or with allies we can truly trust.

I've come a different conclusion based on our long history of using Muslim extremists as proxy fighters and destabilizing forces in our unconstitutional regime change efforts around the world.

1.) It is a long term policy.

2.) The policy only benefits those who make obscene profit from wars.

3.) Obama is just a front man for those who stand to make obscene profits from using Muslim extremists as proxy fighters and destabilizing forces.

4.) Obama's job is to make us believe he is running the show so that we won't go looking for the people really running the show.
