If a thread was started titled "The Sky is Blue," three posters that have made their presence made well know as of late would debate it. Poster number one would say the name blue is not the ordained name of the color, and besides that, the water canopy in the sky before the flood is still there, therefore, I cannot see the sky. The second poster would say the sky is green to start an argument, and the third one would say that a blue sky is mentioned no where in the Bible.

At what point does the sky appear a different color? If one is flying in an airplane, the sky appears bluer below the clouds than above. (Have seen this many times myself)

Is the sky really blue? Or does it just appear to be blue? If you were able to reach out the airplane window and filla jar, then return to Earth, would you see blue in the jar?

Enquiring minds want to know...

Actually, the sky is blue (during the daylight) simply because of the way sunlight scatters when colliding with our atmosphere. If we had no atmosphere, the sky would always be dark.

    Always a Troublemaker?

Here is my response to your statement, and I hope it fits in with all the others you've gotten so far and will get later: http://science.howstuffworks.com/nature/climate-weather/atmospheric/sky.htm

Brother P4T and I are both Oakland Raiders fans, and it was a joke pointed at him, in case you didn't catch onto what I meant. It's been a hard TEN YEARS for us Raiders' fans, but we're loyal to the end. Even if people poke fun at us as soon as they find out we're Raiders' fans.....:tonofbricks: :tonofbricks:

Just read on a scientific page that said the sky starts at yourfeet and rises about 31 km. the sky is our atmosphere, which begind at ground level.

No blue at your feet, unless you are on a surfboard in the ocean. LoL

I've been a Raiders' fan since January 4, 1981...the "mistake by the lake" game vs. the Cleveland Browns. I won't jump ship, even if we never win another game. Win, lose, or tie, a Raiders' fan until I die.

The sky is BLACK with little pinpoints of light* scattered about. Light that appears to be white**. Black is the absence of color. Even when moonlight is present all, between the ground beneath our feet and the sky above, is greyscale.

Since it's been raining here for a week, the sky that I see this morning is still greyscale. So, sunrise (presence of more light) didn't change what these eyes see in the sky. Nope! The sky is NOT Blue!

*light is the presence of all colors.
** white is the absence of color, as no 2 colors can be combined to produce white.

:godisgood: He created all of it.

Back in the day I allowed alcoholic beverages to touch my lips. I swallowed. Back in the day i smoked marijuana. I inhaled.
Back in the day I studied at a secular college and a liberal seminary. I learned some weird stuff.

I can only conclude that the sky is. :flower:

It is not my fault. I am a victim. I must leave now. I have a sudden urge to dance and paint flowers on my VW van.
