I'm sure his sermon topic was on humility.

Here's what bothers me the most about that video.

Not the abusive preacher, but the spineless people.

I wouldn't sit there even if it costs me my church membership and listen to that. I wouldn't say anything, but I would get up and leave.

If that man wants to confront the guy in the "video room" about his making it a "youth hang out", then he can do so privately. The same thing for the young man who doesn't come to church all the time who wants to get married by this guy. And I would hope that if I were once an immoral woman, but allowed Jesus to turn my life around that if a man in the pulpit publicly asked my husband, brother, father, .... if they remember what kind of a woman I used to be - that one of them would escort me and my whole family out of the door.

What's wrong with people? Are they THAT subjugated to someone in leadership - even if it's abusive?

The problem with that church wasn't the preacher, it was the people.

The angry man in the video ... I would not call him a pastor ... should read:

    James 1:19-20
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

Okay, who was that guy, and what church was that?

It was Immanuel Bap, somewhere in Oklahoma.
I check the SBC site, it was not listed.

The big problem is that some atheists will see this and think all Baptist preachers are like that.

I bet the deacon meetings are interesting.

I wonder if his open rebuke of the guy in the video room might have something to do with this being on Youtube.

Scarlett is right on the money. The fact that this man still has a group of people to preach to every week is just pathetic.

Searching the internet (thanks Google!) I have found the preacher, and the entire message.

The Sermon was on May 19, 2013 Morning Service. Go to ibcskitook.com, click Media, then Online Sermons. The full one hour two minute sermon can be viewed there.

No, not ALL baptist pastor/preachers are like this, but some are. Pretty sure this church is of the IFB flavor.

Here is the descriptor from Immanuel's web on Jim Standridge:

Dr. Jim Standridge is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill pastor. When it comes to preaching a gospel of change and higher living, we are not engaged in a run-of-the-mill relationship. Bro. Jim's style is Spirit-led, encouraging, and practical, engaging the believer in matters of the heart and barring no word in confronting the follower of Christ on issues of sin and iniquity. Bro. Jim toes the line, counsels with the Word of God, and has a heart for God and the church.

I watched the video last week on churchleaders.com and after reading the above... shake the head, laugh, move on.

LOL, I do not know which is funnier, calling him for Poncho's church or Dr Arch's church. If you want to call our pastor, the number is 270-555-0989.

    The man's a lunatic.

    Real Christian humility...
"...Son don't go to sleep while I'm talking! Hey, hey hey. Don't you lay your head back. I'm important. I'm somebody."

    Made me think of Hyles.

I would leave that church. Actually I'd never have joined it, I guarantee you this isn't unusual for this speaker.

Having watched the entire sermon, i would have to disagree.

The pastor addressed sins that were known to the Church already.
