One of the answers to my poll on cliques got me to thinking about pews, or seating arrangements [our church has nice padded chairs].

Do you have a favorite seating spot, and does it upset you if you arrive and find it taken by a "newby" :BangHead: or a troublemaker?

Sunday Mornings, right side closest to the outer wall, 2nd row closest to the piano. My wife recently started playing the organ and wants to sit on the left side. I refuse to sit with those people and because I'm the head of my household, she does what I tell her to do and she sits on the right.

We tend to sit in the same place, but won't get bent out of shape if someone is there already, usually not a problem unfortunately.

I have seen people get upset (#6) :tear:

I also cracked up when I saw option #8, I've actually heard a side entrance to the church referred once as the "John Smith" door. That whole thing of putting your name on something you donate has always befuddled me.

I'm the pastor, so I don't get to sit - but when we have a guest preacher, I normally sit two rows back on the right side at the center aisle. There are always seats available up front!

Good for you Gib. And if she starts giving you lip, you remind her that she's not allowed to talk in church and that you'll deal with her when you get home.

Make her do the dishes by hand.

LOL, as a teenager growing up in the Presbyterian Church, one of our hobbies as teens was to target the seats that belonged to the elders and their glorious wives. We would pack a pew by going into church early and sitting right where we knew the target elder of the week liked to sit. It was well worth the looks we got when the given couple walked in, especially the look of the wife. I still laugh when I think about that in my 60s. No Convicted, I still do not do that.

I have my seat and NO one had better sit in it.

It's the front row left side very first seat right on the center aisle.

I don't think many would try to sit in it though because it's the seat with the table and computer there, right next to the subwoofer. It's kind of not a "prime seat". LOL

If someone sits there, I will allow them to stay - and they have to run the computer for the whole service! HA!
