OP?? I am not an Old Person. I prefer the term ASS: Active Significant Senior. Please do not marginalize me simply because I was born before the ‘Corporate View of Election’ was invented by Arminians to explain away the plain teaching of Romans 9. :love2:

“We don't believe the Calvinistic view of God is unjust because he condemns certain people to hell. We believe the Calvinistic view of God is unjust because He offers a pardon to all mankind while only granted a few of them the ability to receive it, all the while expressing a desire for all to come to repentance and a frustration for those who remain unwilling.”

You have just proven the very point you wished to disprove. Scripture clearly teaches Christ purchased salvation for all those given by [elected by] the Father. His atoning propitiation earned the right to freely and graciously give the gift of the Holy Spirit to those same specific Elect sinners in order to insure they meet the conditions necessary to their salvation. Christ is the Savior who infallibly saves His people from their sins! It is man’s sin which causes his rejection of the true Christ, not God’s sin in declaring man’s responsibility to believe that which is the true and holy way of salvation. God is under no obligation to pay the sin debt of any man and has not willed to do so. He is, however, under obligation to exercise fair and impartial justice.

Though the Lord is gracious to many it is not at the expense of His justice. Christ voluntarily took upon Himself the punishment due deserving Elect sinners. Greater love does not exist. Thus, once justice was served by the substitutionary death of the Lamb of God, the Lord was free to exercise His divine right to forgive the sins of those for whom Christ died, graciously bestowing all those undeserved gifts necessary to their salvation: the new birth, repentance, faith, justification, good works, obedience, sanctification, love of the brethren, love of the truth, love of neighbor, perseverance, etc. – all infallibly leading to their glorification….to the praise of His glorious grace.

At no time has God declared His obligation to graciously meet the necessary conditions of salvation for every sinner. That He does not do so, while at the same time commanding all men to repent and believe the Gospel, you declare unfair/unjust. By His not graciously providing the necessary means to the end (i.e., salvation) for all men, He has not intended their salvation, but instead intended their just condemnation….to the praise of His glorious justice.

That these truths sound abhorrent to the natural man and many professing Christians is evidenced by the vehement opposition Paul encounters in teaching the purpose of God according to election in Romans 9. However, the vessels of mercy humbly and reverently embrace these Gospel truths praising His amazing grace by which He loved us first and will infallibly bring us to Him where we will enjoy and worship Him forever.

This is a good and well reasoned post.

It doesn't name call, it doesn't make fun of opposing views, and it presents a reasonable and Scriptural basis in which folks can engage using Scriptures to support some contending viewpoint.

Thank you for the thoughtfulness that you put into this OP. Would that others (including myself) were so skillful at remaining unoffensive yet presenting a clearly stated view.
