Judging myself on Anger

This is a review of some Scripture I sought for in the last couple of days for my own benefit. I post it for I am not the only one who deals with this issue.

Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.” (Ps 37:7-8 ASV)

“He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.” (Pr 14:29 ASV)

“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.” (Pr 16:32 ASV)

“He that is soon angry will deal foolishly; And a man of wicked devices is hated.” (Pr 14:17 ASV)

“The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger; And it is his glory to pass over a transgression.” (Pr 19:11 ASV)

“A fool uttereth all his anger; But a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it.” (Pr 29:11 ASV)

“An angry man stirreth up strife, And a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression.” (Pr 29:22 ASV)

“Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” (Ec 7:9 ASV)

“but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.” (Mt 5:22 ASV)

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:” (Eph 4:26 ASV)

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice: and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.” (Eph 4:31-32 ASV)

“For the bishop must be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre;” (Tit 1:7 ASV)

“Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honorable in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men. Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath of God: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord.” (Ro 12:17-19 ASV)

“Jehovah liveth; And blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation, Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, And subdueth peoples under me.” (Ps 18:46-47 ASV)

“The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;” (Ps 58:10 ASV)

“Thou answeredst them, O Jehovah our God: Thou wast a God that forgavest them, Though thou tookest vengeance of their doings. Exalt ye Jehovah our God, And worship at his holy hill; For Jehovah our God is holy.” (Ps 99:8-9 ASV)

“Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; he will come and save you.” (Isa 35:4 ASV)

 

In recent days I have not been able to watch the news at all to avoid so much anger. Various things have been taking place in the nation and in church related matters that I had to just quit "fretting" over it and wait on God and know all is under his control. We need to keep in mind that this world is not our home, our citizenship is elsewhere!
