I don't know of any KJVO who would claim that the KJV is God's preserved word for the whole world. Perhaps a few extremists, but that is not the normal view.

What were the reasons the KJV was translated, wasn't the geneva Bible good enough?

isn't the geneva bible recoginized by many as being superior version, so what were the valid reasons to have the Kjv made?

85% of the AV revision was of the Geneva. Very little "new" material.

The Anglicans HATED the Geneva, NOT for the most part because of the translation but because the NOTES in the Geneva were anti-monarchial and anti-Anglican.

The people LOVED the Geneva. It was not until the printing and importing of the Geneva was OUTLAWED did the AV (and subsequent revisions and revisions) become a popular replacement.

God's word was preserved in the scriptures of believers of past ages.
It is preserved in the very scriptures we study.
It will be perserved for all generations according to God himself.

If those thread is going to run, perhaps we could have some examples of KJVO advocates who say that the KJVO is God's word for all languages. I actually have never seen that claim made.

I believe the KJB is an accurate translation of the preserved scriptures found in copies in many languages not, just Greek and Hebrew. The KJB translators also consulted manuscripts in several other languages.

I believe that the KJB is the preserved word of God in English. If someone were to take the same source texts used for the KJB and translate into another language such as Chinese, then that would be preserved word of God in Chinese.

I do not agree that a translation has to be error. On the day of Pentacost, God caused the apostles and disciples to translate and speak the word of God in at least 18 different languages. If it is impossible for a translation to be perfect, then God caused error. This is impossible.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

This passage PROVES that the word of God can be translated into other languages without error.

Now what kind of question is that? Of course if somebody does a terrible job then the translation would be full of errors.

I like to believe that people who truly love the Lord and want to spread the gospel would try to do the most excellent job they could.

Are there bad translations out there? Of course, I could give you a list, but it would make you mad.

Why don't you and Norris make up your mind, was it 85% from the Geneva Bible, or 80% from the Tyndale version? It can't be both. [personal attack snipped].

Back to the OP's question. I still have not seen any KJVO who insists that it is the only preserved translation for all languages.

Not sure this is a valid thread without some evidence that it happens.

Gentlemen....fellow KJV aficcionados...lend me your ears...please, for crying out loud, don't even take this thread or O.P. seriously.

This may be the most perversely un-informed O.P. known to man....It stands perfectly to reason that our esteemed Mods are BOTH massively interested and excited about it.

Limited experience would suggest that anything so foolish as a "Why not Chinese" question...or, similarly, a "The Mods LOVE this thread"...should automatically tell both of you that this is poisonous stupidity.

If BOTH Dr. Bob and C4K wanna engage this ingenuity:..........................................I assure you, you want nothing whatsoever to do with it, and it ain't worth it

They actually neither HEAR NOR comprehend a WORD you're saying...not a word.

Winman...admit to yourself that you've answered the SAME questions from C4K approximately 1 BILLION times...and yet, inexplicably...he's still "curious" about what you believe. DUH:laugh:

He never listened the first time, and he won't on this one. Kick the dust off and move on. If he wants ANYTHING...it would be merely an excuse to Ban you from the board. He doesn't care a fig to debate you or learn from you. Ditto Bob.

Anti-KJVO's are so fundamentalistically blind. They're like Ruckmanites...only they don't realize it. Let this thread go....
If BOTH Bob and C4K wanna participate in this thread????, one can be assured no one will learn or be exhorted at all. That's enough of a warning right there. Just let it go.

You are totally missing the boat inspector. If you'd look at this without bias you would see I am defending KJVOers here saying they are not guilty of the accusation.

You were....and I was wrong... Just re-read the thread a min. ago, and realized my error.

I am in the wrong to have abused your name thus.

You were fair and objective. My mistake. I should ask you to forgive me. I was wrong.

    Apology accepted.

You don't know me. I had to step away for a few months. But most KJVO folks here will acknowldge that though our views may differ I strive for balance in moderation. Often both sides have accused me of being biased toward the other.

I'd like to "step away" forever LOL .....I think this debate is too caustic by default. I am a "SORTA" KJVO....except I wouldn't claim that the phraseology: "Go fetch a compass"...(KJV) couldn't possibly be modernized to say "take a circuitous route"....

Similarly: "Gaddest thou not?" is not a phrase unique to the KJV that I think God would be enraged if it were somewhat modernized to say: "don't-cha' know?"

I don't like the KJV thing......because for me, the argument is impossibly simple:

1.) Either you are using the "right" manuscripts, or you're not
2.) Either the "right" manuscripts were well translated, or they weren't.

Nonetheless...My apology to you was due. I pre-judged and was in the wrong. :tear: I am sorry.

kjvo hold the the version IS the word of God to us in english, just as if the originals were somehow morphed into English, and many hold that it is better to learn engish and have the Kjv than try to trnsalte into their language!

Yes....some persons do...only, no-one you know, and no one on this board either.

So what then, is the purpose? To battle demons who don't haunt this website?

    They're dead...all of them.

    Here's my question to you:
Of all these horrific beings who hold such preposterous notions you loathe so much:
