So tell us, oh great moral standard, what is it you do that is worthy to earn money above all the men and women who make an honest living to support their families daily? Obviously it is a higher calling than retailer, police, fire, postman, teacher, electrician, welder, electronics technician, so what it is?

A noble calling for you is to go to work at Barnum and Bailey's Circus circumsizing elephants. The pay is bad but the tips are big.

Long live Labour Day and all of America's workers! May our labour unions, by the grace of God, become a revitalized force for good in this country.

You really need to understand something about the working people before you display your behind in public!

Labor day isn't about workers. I've dug ditches and done factory work all my life. Labor day isn't about me. It's about the UAW, the IBEW, and the Teamsters.

    Puh-leeze.

You got one thing correct; Labor Day is not about you and Labor Day has been around longer than any of the Unions you mentioned. Unions have in general outlived their usefulness but until the Unions changed things the working man was generally treated worse than a dog.

I was raised in the Eastern KY/Southwest VA Coalfields during the Roosevelt Depression and WWII so I know something of the history of the working man before Unions. I would also add that I have dug ditches and done general construction labor. After my tour in the Navy I studied Engineering so life was easier!

As I noted above Unions have in general outlived their usefulness. I would say that FDR was correct about one thing; government workers should not be allowed to form a union given that politicians will sometimes sell their soul for a vote and unions have become corrupt!
