It begins with the conclusion that “The United States Government assesses with high confidence that the Syrian government carried out a chemical weapons attack in the Damascus suburbs on August 21, 2013.” Naturally, one would immediately wonder how such a conclusion was reached when even the expert investigators on the ground have yet to conclude their own study. If these experts with years of training in the field of chemical weapons, toxicology, and other related disciplines, have yet to make such a determination, it would seem more than convenient that the US has already reached this conclusion.

The latest information is that the rebels in Syria actually used the chemical weapons, not the government.

This makes me wonder if McCain is a demagogue or a nut?

Imho he's a nutty demagogue and a very dangerous one at that.

    Interesting question here.

Pro-War Senator Votes Bought With 83% More Defense Lobby Money?

Wednesday's 10-7 vote in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee supporting an authorization of military attacks on Syria may have been affected by varying levels of financial support the senators got from political action committees representing the defense industry, and from the companies' employees. As The Daily Mail reports, on average, a 'yes'-voting senator received 83% more money from defense contractors than one who voted 'no.' Committee members who voted Wednesday to support the proposal collected an average of $72,850 in defense campaign financing between 2007 and 2012, Wired magazine reported, based on data collected by the Center for Responsive Politics. Those who dissented in the committee vote averaged $39,770, with the four senators who received the least amount of defense dollars, ranging from $14,000 to $19,250, all voted no. At a Pentagon-estimated cost of around $5 billion per month (for a 2-month deployment) - and in light of our previous discussion on lobbying ROIs - is it any wonder?

    CONTINUE . . .

Interesting "coincidence" that John McCain would top the list of "yes votes". Wouldn't you say CMG?

John McCain is a war hero and deserves our greatest respect. If anyone in this world understands the impact of war he does. Trying to tear him down just because we disagree discredits those who do it.

I believe John McCain is sincere in what he believes. I also be he is wrong.

There's not any proof of that whatsoever. I've seen some stupid blogs alleging that, but nothing in the "real" media.

As Rev said, McCain is a war hero, and a man who doesn't take getting us into conflict lightly. The Rev thinks he's wrong this time. I don't.

The "real media" you mean the conglomerated corporate media that depends on the sponsorship of the military industrial complex and other huge corporations that stand to profit from wars and interventions to keep it afloat?

You mean the "real media" that has been caught lying and creating false narratives for Washington's war mongers so many times now that it would take more than ten pages just to document them all here?

    You mean that "real media"?

John McCain's war hero status is not enough to cover his continued support of murderous Islamists and known terrorist groups like the MEK.

Unless it is considered heroic or patriotic to support Islamic extremists and the murderers of Christians now. Is that the new meaning of patriotism?

Lost my respect when he campaigned like a mouse, and governs like RINO.

Whether Assad used them or not makes no difference. We need to stay out of it. There is no imminent threat to the US and we are broke and do not have the money to pay for this.

Translation: "It's OK if they kill their own people as long as they don't kill ours."

I fail to understand how you can say that, as I'm relatively certain you are not the kind of man who would stand beside a burning building and proclaim, "It's not my house."

Your translation very dishonest. I never said or implied it is ok. And there is nor reason to try to make that up. Reminds me of the typical liberal tactic where they say that if you do not support their version of welfare then you hate the poor. Le's keep the the rhetoric above such childish things.

What I am saying is it is not our problem. And more importantly we do not have the money.

I have to wonder why Obama wants to do this. We know beyond all doubt it is not about the people being killed. However, it does distract from defunding Obamacare doesn't it.

That argument might hold water if Washington and it's Saudi, Qatari and Israeli allies hadn't piled up the kindling poured on the gasoline and struck the match.

As it is Washington and it's Saudi, Qatari and Israeli allies are the instigators in this conflict from the very beginning same as in Libya now they all want to rush in and act like the world's greatest heroes by putting out a fire they themselves started.

They've used this ploy (Problem Reaction Solution. ) one to many times and it ain't working for them anymore.

I voted for McCain in spite of his weak performance against Obama in 2008. And I have always respected him for his service. Nevertheless, I think that he just loves the limelight and has abandoned the GOP for access to the White House. He was defeated in 2008 and he is not the GOP leader.

Perhaps the solution to the problems that he has caused the GOP would be for McCain to announce that he has changed to the Democrat Party.

By the way, he is the first major candidate in the GOP to be directly involved in the liquor industry, as his wife's family has the distributorship of Budweiser in Arizona, as you know. In the past, making money from alcohol was left to the Democrat candidates.

I am glad that McCain never got to be President.

Yeah I agree at least John McCain has the decency to wait for human beings to be born before lobbying for their death.

    McCain 1, Obama 0.

Unless dropping bombs on pregnant women = abortion.

That would even the score.
