It's a precarious situation the US finds herself in. And I think waiting to get votes simply makes the US look that much worse.

If you've got irrefutable proof, strike and worry about Congress later. But this public haggling and trying to get votes to do something makes the country look incredibly weak. Keep this up, and folks won't even remember why we're talking about it in the first place.

I kinda think back and growing up with Ronald Reagan. While we may not have always known what was going on behind the scenes, if he told you he was gonna do something, the enemy believed he would do it.

Now we look like "Hey don't you do that. I thought I told you not to do that? If you do that one more time I'm gonna..."

    It's rather pathetic.

At this point I'd rather he just take action to stop making us look like a bunch of emasculated, lil girls while some bully is taunting us.

But if he does--especially without global or even his own country's support--won't he have to give back his Nobel Peace prize?

GOOD. He hadn't done anything to warrant it in the first place.

    The UN got one.
Jimmy Carter got one.(Love him. Used to play at his house but he was an awful President).
    Al Gore got one.

There's three good reasons for anyone with good sense not to want a Nobel Peace Prize, imo.

What do you mean "do notthing"?

Washington and it's Saudi, Qatari and Israeli allies started this conflict by importing, training, funding and arming Islamic extremists in Libya then moving on to Syria after Libya fell to Al Qaeda.

Washington has already done too much. If "we" were so worried about protecting innocent people then "we" shouldn't be putting them in harms way by empowering Jihadis and foreign fighters in Syria.

Syria is in the middle of a 3 year foreign backed destabilization campaign. And Washington is at the bottom of it all.

If Obama does do something then "we" will look like the Qatari's and Saudi's stooges and it would be an accurate picture.

And the Assad\Alawite regime was not our enemy before all this began?

Who can tell anymore Squire? Our friends become our enemies and our enemies become our friends so often it's hard to keep track.

We call em friends and spend billions to build em up then call em enemies and spend billions to tear em down and then spend billions more to rebuild up another in it's place.

Military adventurism is pretty confusing but in the end it keeps all the military contractors happy and fat. That's what really matters.

"We do not wrestle against flesh and blood; but against principalities, and powers-- spiritual wickedness in high places."

The stage is being set for the Antichrist and The Tribulation, The Great.

Jesus will take care of these things too.

Preach The Word, there are still lost sheep to come back to the fold.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Poncho, I thought you'd be a little more objective than your statement below. Post 1948 Syria has never been more than an aquaintence of the US. With the Assads (Sr. and Jr.), it moved to being an enemy of US interests.

The Anti-Christ and Tribulation can set their own stage without spending American tax dollars. We have no business in Syria.

So how many more countries do you want to get involved in besides Vietnam, Korea, Lebanon, Croatia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Panama, Kuwait, Libya, Egypt, and Iran?

Which is what the Great Pretender is hoping for in the first place.

    You're right. It is.

And what exactly are these "US interests" we hear so much about Squire?

Can you give us a definition? Who or what are these US interests? If you're going to cite these "interests" we are protecting around the world with threats of isolating others from the rest of the "global community" and the use of military force you should be ready and able to identify these interests.

    Can you do that?
