Should Congress/staff be exempt from Obamacare?

    The Congressional and Congressional staff exemptions from Obamacare seem to be safe in the hands of Sen. Reid. These exemptions were given because it was thought that Obamacare was too expensive. Actually, I guess it is an accounting trick wherein a larger portion of the premium is to be paid by the taxpayer to lower the premium paid by Congressional staffs.

    It seems strange that well-paid federal employees should pay a lower premium than the ordinary citizen but that is what the Democrats have done.

    Should Congress get special treatment and lower costs in a supposedly universal system?

    The new pending House legislation removes Congress' exemption from the ACA.

    Congress should be required to take on the laws they pass concerning healthcare.

    And insider trading( supposedly done away with :laugh: )
    And tax exemptions.
    And discriminatory workplace practices.
    etal etal.

    They exempt themselves from whatever precludes them from making themselves wealthier while pretending to work for the people.

    Selfishness steeped in a love of money. Has the time passed in which Christians would be raised up to do battle in Washington?

    No. And they should not get special exemptions or subsidies.
