Attached is a worldly & successful church that has tons of activities, is located in the community & dominates the church scene in North West New Jersey. See Attached. This of course would be the "Anti-Church" for serious baptists .... but I repeat, it is highly successful (it has become the substitute for many RC's & qualifies as an alternate church). It really dwarfs all other churches for head count in 2 counties in NJ.

Wonderful church that always welcomes everyone with open arms. I have attended many churches over the course of my life, and Trinity is unique in that it is a loving church. It doesn't boast about how perfect the lives of the congregation are, rather it's focus is on our humanity and how we can put the loving message into action. How we can be more loving, accepting, forgiving, and understanding towards one another. That is what this church has taught me.

I clicked on it and saw it was a UMC. That was enough for me to shut down the tab. Honestly, the UMC around here has walked away from their Biblical heritage. When the pastor says to my FIL "You really believe the Bible? You know it's all stories and allegory, right??" when speaking of Adam and Eve and the flood, and they do a Sunday School class based on Bill Moyer's "Genesis", I know they have not only jumped the tracks but ran into the gorge. :(

Is that an individual pastors opinion or the stance of the whole church movement? You know, apostates big up here. Surprised I haven't seen it somehow blended into the name of a church somewhere...like, the First Apostate Community Bible Cosmic CHRIST Abundant Life Buddy Jesus Church & Amusement Spiritual Family Center....then flash that up on the New LED sign the church just got for 40K.

Listen Ann, just tell your head pastor he can expand to Northern NJ & pick up a dead general Baptist church with Russian Baptists renting it on Saturdays & Sunday afternoons...and they cut the grass. If you can find a way to integrate them, you'd be doing them a service. Hurry though....I cant see the doors remaining open much longer.

First we gotta cover Long Island! Heck, first we need to find our campus a location!! The hotel situation is getting out of hand! Pray as my hubby goes in about an hour (2:30) to take a look at another building that has promise and they have already agreed to rent to a church (the other promising buildings refuse to).

Isn't Shelby Spong running amuck in your neck of the woods? The UMC and The Episcopal Church now have a concordat of inter-communion and pulpit exchange. That tells me the UMC has lost it's theological moorings. Not that long ago I read an article by the local UMC pastor in which he referred to the Atonement as 'Divine child abuse'.

Spongs old now....I dont think he could amuck anything .... but he is indicative of the crap we have here masquerading as religion. But what do you think of the marketing this UMC Church has.....they are the big boys on the block & they outclass the RCC in a soup kitchen & other community works. They have even instituted a Saturday evening service.....so who do you think they are targeting.......thats right, the RCC & they are getting them & growing in leaps & bounds (if that means anything to ya).

He was probably referring to a particular version of the atonement, penal substitution. I've seen that version called that by several people.

Tom....I don't think apostate churches emphasize any doctrine....if they ever did. Rather its a mish Mosh of beliefs, piety, traditions and easy believing.

But if and when these Baptist churches go extinct (and they are doing just that) it will open up a whole different kinda church hybred--a little bit of this & a little bit of that. Perhaps some will even dunk you....but that will probably only be done as an attempt to piety (during the summer months in somebodies pool) during a cookout picnic. LOL!
