Of course, this is an NPR poll, and you have to get through half the article to get to the real numbers. Their own research betrays the partisan headline. Despite obvious attempts to spin it.

    Look at this...

...Most Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, the poll suggests, with 53 percent unhappy with his performance and 37 percent approving of it. Congress is scraping rock bottom, with a ghastly approval rating of 5 percent.

Indeed, anyone making headlines in the dispute has earned poor marks for his or her trouble, whether it's Democrat Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, or Republican John Boehner, the House speaker, both with a favorability rating of 18 percent.

And much of the country draws a blank on Republican Ted Cruz of Texas despite his 21-hour Senate speech before the shutdown. Only half in the poll were familiar enough with him to register an opinion. Among those who did, 32 percent viewed him unfavorably, 16 percent favorably....

BC, I just don't think he cares what his approval ratings are at this point. He's not running again and his primary opposition, Congress, is in the single digits with the same people.

Actually, it's an AP poll. I'd expect NPR to misrepresent the results of its own poll, but when one of the so-called "institutions" of American journalism pulls this crap, you know the liberal media is biased, and have abandoned all pretense of caring about "truth."

The leader of the free world better damn well care about running the country, and his obstinance, stubbornness, childishness, and infantile behavior is becoming the focus of this fiasco. Note: He was the first one to blink, saying yesterday he'd meet. Of course, the qualifications he put on that statement make it impossible for Republicans to agree. But it's just his first move. By next week, he'll be fawning all over Boehner and McConnell asking them to meet and negotiate.

    He's the loser here.

    I stand corrected.

But two things are clear. Media has overstated the national hatred of Ted Cruz, and Ted Cruz and his team are putting a serious whuppin' on ole' Stompyfoot. It's about time. That, and add the national shock and dismay as these low-information voting blocks are finding out what zero-care is actually going to cost them....

It does kind of look like the democrats should be interested in getting this fixed, rather than calling the Tea Party "kidnappers"....LOL.

In today's edition of polls the media will collectively ignore, a new AP-GFK polls finds that Barack Obama's job approval rating has plummeted to 37%. The President's disapproval rating is up to 53%. There is no good news in this poll for anyone, but if past is prologue, this is the number the media will pretend does not exist as they attempt to manufacture a reality in which only the GOP is in trouble over the shutdown.

While the poll shows that 62% blame the GOP for the shutdown and "[a]bout half said Obama or the Democrats in Congress bear much responsibility," here are other important numbers the media will ignore in this poll:

Both Republican House Speaker John Boehner and Democrat Senate Majority Leader share a dismal 18% favorability rating.

    A full 52% of those polled believe, "Obama is not doing enough to cooperate with Republicans to end the shutdown;

Demonizing the opposition is the only thing the left knows. They are incapable of governing, but they sure can get a good rant going.

Because Obama does not have any people or leadership skills. He does not know what else to do.

I'm beginning to think it is actually his governance theory. I don't think he intended to "do" anything. I believe he laid a groundwork for tyranny and anarchy, thinking the next Great Pretender could come along, concealing that agenda, and manage to bring down the U.S. as a nation. I know it sounds like crazy, conspiracy-theory kinda stuff, but he has shown not the slightest inclination to lead, only to divide and destroy. What else could be his agenda with those being his only tactics and theories?

Considering this post, this thread and the many others and the constant anger and name calling against the President and anyone who supports him:

NO he just thought that the press would carry him and that would be enough to get everyone elected he wanted elected and he could just do whatever he wants even though he has no actual leadership skill which is why he acts like he does.
