Top Internal Revenue Service Obamacare official Sarah Hall Ingram discussed confidential taxpayer information with senior Obama White House officials, according to 2012 emails obtained by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and provided to The Daily Caller.

Lois Lerner, then head of the IRS Tax Exempt Organizations division, also received an email alongside White House officials that contained confidential information.

Ingram attempted to counsel the White House on a lawsuit from religious organizations opposing Obamacare’s contraception mandate. Email exchanges involving Ingram and White House officials — including White House health policy advisor Ellen Montz and deputy assistant to the president for health policy Jeanne Lambrew — contained confidential taxpayer information, according to Oversight.

The walls begin to crumble. Run for cover, Great Pretender. But alas, there is nowhere to hide.

Regardless of who is President this should be an impeachable offense.

It will be the first in several articles of impeachment.

It's the WHITE HOUSE. They consult with the FBI, CIA, NSA, and Homeland Security daily and the same type of information is passed back and forth.

If someone said they weren't exchanging folks confidential information, then it might be news worthy.

Somebody explain to Zaac what we are talking about here. He seems to have missed it. Must be a liberal thing today.

If your voice gets any shriller, no one will be able to hear you but your dog.

Get a clue. It is illegal to share an individual taxpayers personal return information with anyone -- even the alleged president of the United States.

Oh, "everybody in government does it" so it's OK? YOUR TRULY ARE CLUELESS!! Even if other presidents, or if some misguided leprechaun in the bowels of government has revealed such information in the past, IT IS STILL ILLEGAL!! And ... you laugh about it.

This insanity just proves you are no longer worth my valuable wasted time.

The government does illegal things everyday but that's no reason to take it lightly. It's all the more reason to hold government accountable to the law.

I mean the whole government, federal, state and local. Every man and woman in it. Not just the democrats or just the republicans. No one in government should be spared an investigation or prosecution just because they belong to a favored political party or share a similar ideology.

Some think it's okay for democrats to engage in illegal activities. Some think it's okay for the republicans to engage in illegal activities. While the two sides argues over why it's okay for their side to engage in illegal activities or to usurp the constitution for the greater good or national security we sink deeper into a pit caused by lawless government.

Is this what you people want? Lawless big government that seeks to keep everything it does top secret and classified while it illegally spies on us all and shares our private and confidential information with whoever it wants?

This issue is not just about the President engaging in illegal activity by accepting confidential info. It also shows that the President was in on the discrimination of conservative groups and Obama used the IRS to shut down opposition.

The IRS Targets Political Opponents Under Both Liberal and Conservative Administrations.

The bipartisan tradition of using the IRS as a tool to harass political opponents suggests that the problem is deeper than just a few “rogue” IRS agents—or even corruption within one, two, three or many administrations. Instead, the problem lays in the extraordinary power the tax system grants the IRS.

The IRS routinely obtains information about how we earn a living, what investments we make, what we spend on ourselves and our families, and even what charitable and religious organizations we support. Starting next year, the IRS will be collecting personally identifiable health insurance information in order to ensure we are complying with Obamacare’s mandates. [For background, see this and this.]

The current tax laws even give the IRS power to marginalize any educational, political, or even religious organizations whose goals, beliefs, and values are not favored by the current regime by denying those organizations “tax-free” status. This is the root of the latest scandal involving the IRS.

Let's not pretend like the Obama administration is the first use the IRS to terrorize and shut down it's opponents. This practice needs to be stopped no matter which side is involved. And it isn't going to be stopped by blaming the other side while ignoring the root of the problem.

First there are many claims made in that article but no actual evidence. I certainly believe FDR would do something like that but I doubt the rest.
