I think that he is right in saying that Apple is making a lot of money in China with cheap labor but I have heard also that the Chinese government built the buildings for Apple and allowed them a few years free rent, also. Clearly in the long run, China will be aligned with Islam against the USA because we will have made them rich and they will use the money to build a military to attack us, as Islam has done with oil money.

The reason that manufacturing will continue to leave the USA is that the Democrats like the fact that we have the highest corporate tax in the world because the Democrats no longer need white working-people to win elections. It is demographics.

As for J.P. Morgan, I could care less about them. The real problem is in D.C. As they say, we have a fiat currency and it is the tallest midget in the world. Congress in 1913 turned their constitutional power to coin money over to the Federal Reserve Bank, and the Fed has printed money whenever Wall Street wanted it. You can see that the upper class is in control of the money supply. Don't look to the upper class for patriotism--they love money and nothing else.

What will happen to the lower class with all of the abandoned factories and warehouses? Wages will be pressed to the floor. The Democrats want higher taxes and that will cause more unemployment. The funding of benefits such as the 47 million people on food stamps cannot be sustained indefinitely because we do not have enough working people to sustain a welfare state.

I think that it will be the GOP that fades into history because the Democrats will demagogue, as always, and the Democrats will continue until the country collapses from within. The weak military will be stranded overseas much as Napoleon left an army in Egypt to die two hundred years ago.

Just call me cmg, saturneptune. That is a good video. I remember when Walmart advertised that everything was made in the USA in their stores. The truck traffic is as shown in the Jib Jab video. Truckers might be the only ones making any money nowadays....

Ponco, who has time to watch a two-hour video? I don't think that we are headed towards a New World Order as much as I think, and fear, that the USA is headed into a second-rate status, like France, for example.

If I remember right you didn't have time to read a 150 page report put out by the Brookings Institute "Which Path To Persia" either CMG.

But that didn't stop you from giving me your opinion on it.

How can you have an opinion on something you haven't got time to read or view for yourself? This whole board is filled with people's opinions. So where do they come from? How are they formed if no one has time to read the actual documents and view the evidence for themselves? What are all these opinions based on if no one has time to read the documents and view the evidence for themselves?

    Someone else's opinion?

The Brookings Institute is not a respectable source as I told you at the time in relationship to Iran's presence in Venezuela, along with China's hopes to establish a military base in South America.

I didn't give any opinion on your video--I merely stated that I thought and feared that the USA is declining into a second-rate country. As a point of personal privilege, I said that I did not have two hours to watch the video that you linked. I spent a half-hour on the subject of this thread. You seem to be thinking that the USA is going to remain a first-class country in an international cabal of the rich. Why does Europe need the Ivy League if they are broke?

I don't do liberal think tanks--you and Poncho have something in common in that you respect the Brookings Institute.

CMG is a stand up guy. He has way more credibility on this board than some Johnny come lately newbie that's appointed himself the sole judge of everyone elses credibility.

    Get over yourself already.

CMG, I never made a claim about Brookings credibilty one way or the other. What difference does it make if Brookings wears a liberal mask? It's funded by the same corporations that fund think tanks like the Heritage Foundation that wears a conservative mask. The self same corporations fund La Raza.

I've read Which Path To Persia. I've read the PNAC documents along with a whole slew of other policy papers and documents these corporate funded thinkers put out.

It doesn't matter if you find them credible or not because of the mask they wear. The fact is they form the policies the govt then carries out. Maybe if could find an hour or two of spare time to read what these corporate central planners are writing you'd notice their words being put into action right before your eyes.

If you can't find the time to read their documents at least find a few minutes to find out who is funding them.

The corporations have hijacked the government. It's central planning by proxy.

On the Venezuela matter and the attempted Iranian and Chinese influence among the countries of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Nicaragua, you have already dismissed my source as neo-con, but you insist that I read some liberal think tank that you like, Poncho, on the subject of Iran. Carter gave Iran over to the Islamic fundamentalists so why should the liberal/progressive Democrat Brookings Institute trace that history? I believe that Iran and China are seeking a military base in Venezuela or Ecuador and you do not because a South American Hispanic Jew is the one to bring this to the public's attention. Fine. We disagree, Poncho, and I wish you the joy of the Brookings Institute. I am sure that you can find other long videos for me to watch and other long papers for me to read. I watched your half-hour video on economic matters about JP Morgan Chase and it was in the news this evening that they angered the Obama administration for standing against all the new regulation and this is costing them millions in attorney fees.

If you want to believe that the international rich can rule the world, that is also fine with me. I am a minority of one who believes that the USA is in economic decline and the Ivy League is useless to Europe if they cannot pay Europe's bills. This is where Europe will tell the Ivy League to shut up and Europe will suddenly find the money to go it alone.

If I were you, I would worry about how our military is going to retreat from overseas or if they are going to be picked off over there.

I don't think the Brookings Institute is liberal or conservative. I agree with its findings on many things, and disagree with it on others. It may be the only true centrist think tank in the world.

Actually, the real power is with the rich and powerful not in Washington. The 1% and the special interest groups like the NRA control the politicians.

Virtually every mainstream Republican politician on the federal level has signed Grover Norquist’s “Taxpayer Protection Pledge.” The politicians who sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge promise never to raise marginal tax rates, nor to remove tax loophole without balancing these removals with marginal rate decreases. Put simply, signatories of this pledge promote a ratchet-wrench philosophy for federal taxes: tax income can always be decreased through cuts, but any attempt to increase tax rates or end tax cuts is summarily rejected. (http://forcechange.com/21658/republicans-sign-pledge-vowing-never-to-raise-taxes/).

Who is Grover Norquist? Norquist is best known for founding Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) in 1985, which he says was done at the request of then-President Ronald Reagan.[16] Referring to Norquist's activities as head of ATR, Steve Kroft, in a 60 Minutes episode that aired on November 20, 2011, claimed that "Norquist has been responsible, more than anyone else, for rewriting the dogma of the Republican Party."

The Nation‘s Lee Fang looked at the funding for Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform and found that in 2010 — the year of the Tea Party’s epic landslide victory — two-thirds of the group’s funding came from just two “dark money” non-profits: The Center to Protect Patients’ Rights and Crossroads GPS.

Thanks to Norquist and his billionaire backers, the richest have a tax rate on income that’s about one-third of what it was in the 1950s. And the richest, who often take most of their income in the form of capital gains, often pay a lower tax rate than Warren Buffett’s secretary.

I wasn't insisting you watch a 2 hour video CMG. I asked how you or anyone else could form an opinion (as if it were based on all the facts) on something you haven't looked into any deeper than a few headlines and "mainstream media" corporate funded opinion pieces?

I believe it was another poster Baptist In Richmond (if I remember right) that made the connection between your source and the neocons. The question of your source's race and or religion never came up in that discussion (by me) so you can put away the anti semite stick you're trying to beat me over the head with.

Frankly one's race and or religion has nothing to do with being a corporate funded shill. The only time political ideology is a factor is when it's used to create division and keep people in their separate camps so we'll stay focused on what the other camp is doing rather than who is funding (controlling) both camps.

You don't like reading long reports or viewing 2 hour videos. You've made that abundantly clear. I understand few people have time to do the kind of research I've done. Again I just wanted to know how people can form an opinion as if it were based on all the facts if they have not personally looked into all the facts for themselves?

It's not a tough question to answer. At least I don't think it is.

It was in the news that Obama is ticked off at the banksters? And you believe it? Why? Obama has over seen the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor and middle class to the elite global banking and Wall Street class in the history of the world. Obama being ticked off is most likely more theater cooked up by brand Obama to keep his gullible followers from figuring out who Obama the man really serves.

Have you got time to read a short report? Here's one the Washington Post just reported on.

Conflicts of interest in the Syria debate

An analysis of the defense industry ties of experts and think tanks who commented on military intervention

    From the report . . .

    Key Findings

The media debate surrounding the question of whether to launch a military attack on Syria in August and September of 2013 was dominated by defense industry-backed experts and think tanks. These individuals and organizations are linked to dozens of defense and intelligence contractors, defense-focused investment firms, and diplomatic consulting firms with strong defense ties, yet these business ties were rarely disclosed on air or in print. This report brings transparency to these largely undocumented and undisclosed connections.

    < snip >

    Think Tanks

    • Seven think tanks. The report profiles seven prominent think tanks with significant industry ties that weighed in on intervention in Syria. These think tanks were cited 144 times in major US publications from August 7th, 2013 to September 6th, 2013. The Brookings Institution, Center for Strategic and International Studies, and The Institute for the Study of War were the most cited think tanks from our dataset.
    • Experts with The Brookings Institution were cited in 31 articles on Syria in our dataset, more than any other think tank. Brookings is an influential think tank that is presented in the media as an independent authority, yet it receives millions in funding from the defense industry, including $1 – 2.5 million from Booz Allen Hamilton and $50,000 – $100,000 from Boeing, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Palantir Technologies. Brookings Executive Education’s Advisory Council Chair, Ronald Sanders, is a Vice President and Senior Fellow at Booz Allen Hamilton.
    • The Center for Strategic and International Studies was cited in 30 articles on Syria. CSIS has ample individual connections to the defense industry through its advisors and trustees, including CSIS Senior Advisor Margaret Sidney Ashworth, Corporate Vice President for Government Relations at Northrop Grumman, and CSIS Advisor Thomas Culligan, Senior Vice President at Raytheon. CSIS President and CEO John Hamre is a director for defense contractor SAIC.
    • Analysts representing The Institute for the Study of War were cited in 22 articles on Syria in our dataset. One such article by former ISW Senior Research Analyst Elizabeth O’Bagy was cited by Secretary John Kerry and Senator John McCain during congressional hearings in their effort to justify intervention.1 ISW’s Corporate Council represents a who’s who of the defense industry and includes Raytheon, SAIC, Palantir, General Dynamics, CACI, Northrop Grumman, DynCorp, and L-3 Communication.
The corporations and defense industry fund both sides in the debate.

Whether these think tanks cloak themselves in a left liberal cover or a right conservative cover makes no difference when they are all controlled by the same corporate interests.

What is so hard to understand about that? The whole leftie vs rightie "debate" is a distraction to keep us angry and divided while the banks and corporations have their way with us.

    See my signature line below.

Poncho, you are not worried about what neo-cons are worried about and you fears about JP Morgan seem unfounded in light of their announcement that they have spent millions on lawyers in disputes with Obama over regulations. We are in a phony economy caused by the Fed and their printing of money for the last forty years. I am worried about collapse. You are worried about takeover.
