If I was unemployed and able to negotiate a small loan to see me through the interim period, I'd do it. In fact, I've done it. How does the Huffington Post find this offensive?

For that matter, how does the Huffington Post miss the irony they're criticizing gthe congressman for suggesting the individual follow the example of the Democrats who constantly and unceasingly add to the debt and the deficit by borrowing more and more money? Seems like what the Native Americans of 200 years ago would call "speaking with a forked tongue." It works for individuals. For governments already in hock up to their eyeballs, it isn't such a good idea.

I don't know. Perhaps they find it offensive that a member of Congress still receiving the payouts from his $174,000 salary on top of his other employment during a furlough that Congress is partially responsible for would dare fix his mouth to tell them what they need to do to survive.

And it's pure fool's folly to even suggest that the Dems are adding to the debt all by themselves.

So what ? Maybe he's just following a bad example ? Could be he meant it as a joke, and took it down once the perpetually offended got wind of it.

Then why won't they discuss cutting spending proportionate to the amount of any debt ceiling increase?

It would be the same what that would be said about the President if the article were about him.

So Republicans actually listen to the President now? If he meant it as a joke, he needs to be placed in time out for being categorically stupid.

The excuse being given is that a staffer posted it using his account.

    Again, so what ?

I don't know who the republicans are listening to.
This isn't a big deal, to me.

Again, sounds a lot like what Obama would say.

I think Representative Pearce of New Mexico should have his paycheck stopped and benefits cancelled along with the other 534 clowns. They get paid when they do their job.

Again, so you asked the question and I answered it.

Doesn't have to be a big deal to you. There's a lot of stuff posted on here that ain't a big deal or a deal at all.

But it's actually what the representative from New Mexico did say.

On the contrary, they're going to have to talk compromise if they want anything done.

Oh well. Both sides of the aisle are pretty smelly so no one can really tell the difference.

Ohhh, so now you're backtracking and admitting the statement below is a lie?

Either they will because they're going to have to or they won't. Make up your mind.

Doesn't mean there aren't any. But I'd still just assume kick em all out and start from scratch.

No, Zaac. I'm talking about Democrats having to talk compromise. I'm sure you knew that. Typical nonsense, putting words in people's mouths, dishonestly reframing the argument, etc. Why do I bother, I wonder?

I didn't put anything in your mouth. You said they wouldn't and now you're saying they are going to have to. So make up your mind. They're YOUR words.
