Maybe EWF can chime in on this. Mayor Booker won a convincing victory for the US Senate over his Republican challenger in a special election on Wednesday.

What makes this so amazing is that the same electorate voted for Governor Christie, and Christie himself is up for reelection in a few weeks. In fact, he has been seen as a possible candidate for President in 2016.

I guess the question would be, what issues have New Jersey voters splitting their ticket like this. Both men win convincing victories, yet both appear to be polar opposites.

If Christie had not spent state money for a special election to keep Booker off the November ballot. I agree with those who say that Christie would have faced a sure loss himself.

I dont see Christy as a polar opposite to Booker.....he has chummed up with the democrats lots of times to get stuff done..... so he is no where near the politician like Ted Cruze. More of a moderate.

What bothered me in this Senate election was Steve Lonnigan not making that much of an effort. I'm not sure he wanted that job.....that would take him to Washington. 1st, Lonnigan is legally blind & he has difficulty negotiating walking & moving around without help. I think he would prefer to take the position of Governor & deal on a local level vs DC. (just intuition on my part you understand).

Christie tours the state & repeatedly tells people that he has no interest in a higher political office. He struggles with his weight, & displacing his wife & family from their expensive lifestyle.....I believe they are somewhat comfortable & going to DC concerns him as well. But David Koch has personally guaranteed that he would foot the bill if CC wanted to throw his hat in the race. (I have mixed feelings about that as well)

I think he's worse than that, EW&F. He's a true RINO, a liberal with a GOP label. His picture is in the dictionary next to the definition.

Then I am confused....why would David Koch personally extend an invetation to support Christy? Do you think Koch is just hedging his bets?

No he will (meaning CC) win by a large percentage because we in NJ have experienced Jim Corzine for two terms & Jim McGreevy (the out of the closet homosexual).... both extra liberal governors with putrid results . So going forward it will be CC winning another term. Steve Lonnigan (another died in the wool Koch Bros bought politician) would like nothing more than to take the governors job next.

One parting commentary (which I agree with) comes from someone from Roman Antiquity / one Cato the Elder.

"Railing at the fat knight, he said, “Where can such a body be of service to the state, when everything between its gullet and its groins is devoted to belly?

That pretty much describes my opinion as well of Chris Christy.

Of course. That's what corporate benefactors of politicians do. They contribute to both sides of the race.

Sneaky buggers aren't they. I would say that they probably control all of NW New Jersey.....which is probably why I could keep chickens in my back yard. We actually went to court & since there was no ordinance against it, we won. The neighbors complained about the chickens, the rooster ....but the real kicker was the Tea Party Stickers my wife affixed to the window.....the neighbor said the SNAKE with the Dont Tred on Me sentiment offended her. The judge upheld our Constitutional Rights & we won the case. Ha Ha!!!:tongue3:

This whole part of New Jersey needs to repent.....we are Nineveh & we need to cover ourselves in sackcloth, give up our evil ways and violence.

I pray for the Lord to send someone....someone who can inspire us to act justly, love mercy & walk humbly with our God.
