    I had a discussion about ObamaCare initiated by a long time business acquaintance. He is self-employed and just saw his rates under ObamaCare double over his private insurance. He lives in Chattanooga, TN.

    Me: "Bob" so, how much more are you going to pay under the ObamaCare exchange?
    "Bob" = Double what I am paying now. This really stinks!
    Me: Tough deal, Bob. But you know what? You have to be quiet now.
    "Bob" = Huh? Why?
    Me: You voted for Obama, right?
    "Bob": Twice.
    Me: Yeah. You have to be quiet now. You cannot complain about ObamaCare.
    "Bob": You serious? (agitation was setting in at this point)
    Me: Yep. Your outrage lacks credibility since you voted for the man. Of course, if you are willing to recant of your bad decision then I will grant you the opportunity to complain until the cows come home.

    The rest of the conversation took a distinct turn south, and I do not mean geographically! He called me every four letter word you can imagine. I just shut my mouth, smiled, and enjoyed the entertainment.

    Ann, the OP is just one of about a half dozen discussions I have had with business people from CEO down to middle manager. My day job brings me in contact with mostly liberals. They are in disbelief at the cost of ObamaCare. One even told me he thought the government subsidies would cover the full cost. Ever the liberal he refused to criticize Obama. Rank-in-file liberals and progressives are delusional.

    I suppose you feel good about denying healthcare to 45M Americans? Why? I don't call myself a liberal. I call myself a Christian.

    Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

    What are you doing to the least of us?

    What about the 30 million Americans that still won't have healthcare insurance?

    And are you ever going to actually respond to anything I post to you, or do you just prefer to ignore anyone who posts facts contrary to what you want to believe?

    I've got a stepson who has lost two-thirds of his friends on Facebook for virtually the same reason. They posted gripes about the ACA, and he reminded them who they voted for. They promptly de-friended him. I told him "so what?" They weren't much of a "friend" in the first place if they can't take having a mirror held up to their noses.

    Study Christ carefully and try to find anything in His teachings that supports the government taking over healthcare, or the government doing anything, for that matter, to help the poor. Let me know how that turns out for you.

    During the time of His earthly ministry, such a thought was laughable. Governments didn't help, they took. Oh, wait. They still do. They just call it "welfare" to make the populace feel better about being robbed blind.

    It would have been cheaper for the nation and more efficient to give each of those without healthcare a million dollars each.

    Seven million vs. nearly a trillion. Sounds like a much less costlier program to me. The ACA is the equivalent of giving $3,000.00 to every living American! That would pay for health care premiums for two or three years! More for the young and healthy.

    Let's suggest that. See how far it flies.

    I'd like to know where a person can buy health insurance for $83 to $125 a month...

    That's $250 a month, per person regardless of size of household. A thousand dollars for a family of four would buy a darned nice insurance plan.

    Can you substantiate that 30M won't have insurance if all Americans obey the law? What "facts" have you posted?

    In a previous thread, I posted a link to the report from Massachusetts state officials about how Romneycare is taking up more and more of their state budget, leaving them less and less for other state requirements; if necessary, I'll re-post that link.

    As for the 30 million that will remain uninsured, that comes from the Congressional Budget Office: http://healthaffairs.org/blog/2013/...re-act-a-demographic-and-geographic-analysis/

    Now, how about that statement of yours that Republicans changed the ACA and caused it to be seriously flawed? Care to provide us a link to substantiate that?

    That would be $45T. That's almost 3 times as large as our total current national debt. How did you do in 3rd grade math?

    Christ never supported the government doing anything. He came to establish a heavenly kingdom not to support an earthly one. he did say we should be good citizens but nothing more than that.
