Nope. We went from KJV to NIV but that was before the 2011 version. Then we went to ESV. I don't see us ever going back to NIV but if we did, I have a little pull (did in the last change as well) and can talk to the pastor about it. Honestly, it would have to be a lot more than a Bible version to get me to switch churches unless they were staunchly "You will not use any other version" but that's a different story. :)

So the ONLY church that would have some "jump" would be those holding to KJVO then?

ANY "only" I would leave from because there are deeper issues than just that one, IMO. If a church held an "only" stance, what else would they be wrong on? You know?

don't know, but would say that the ONLY versions that would cause me to jump ship would be if my pastors adopted either the NWT, or else book of Mormon!

There is a church that is down the block from our campus that has a "Miracle Service" on Thursday nights. Hubby and I have been tempted to check it out - but we're afraid. LOL

That would be a "gathering" not a church. Do they use a Bible? Not that that would make any differance. Do they use the word church?

    Nope.

My church seems to use a small variety of translations rather than just one, but maybe that is mainly because we don't have a pastor currently and the church leaders are taking turns preaching.

The NKJV is used a lot, but there's also some NIVs under the seats in the congregation. And one guy likes to read out of The Message translation.

I see it as an opportunity to compare translations. :)

Although our pastor preaches from the NKJV mostly, he sometimes quotes verses from the NIV, ESV, and various others, there are at least 6-8 different versions used by people in our church, probably more.

And that's okay with you now;isn't it? It used to be customary for you to insist that it was causing all sorts of confusion in your church. You didn't say anything negative about it this time --so I'm hoping you have changed your mind.

Yes, I have changed my mind! I found that it's just not worth the trouble worrying about it. It does sometimes still cause confusion, but that only offers an opportunity to examine the Word more closely! I can admit to being wrong, it didn't hurt (well, maybe just a little).

use the word church on building, never gone in there, so would assume that its based off "readings and messages" from beyond!
