    If she's qualified, I vote for her in a heartbeat. Such offices are positions of service, not rule.

    I see Bea Mesquias was just elected president of the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas. I wonder, how many Southern Baptist state conventions or local associations have ladies serving in that capacity? Anyone know?

    Tom Butler and others, how often have you gotten to vote for a woman for denominational office? I believe a WMU lady was SBC vice president in the 1980s, but has there been one even nominated in the last quarter century?

    Saw this in the 1978 SBC Annual: Anita Bryant, candidate for 1st VP:

    Which women would you consider good candidates right now for the SBC presidency or vice presidency?
