Ironically, that's what the Great Pretender said two weeks ago, and he was roundly chastised for the comment.

Essentially, National Review is right, there weren't enough conservatives in Congress to make it happen. However, I still maintain that caving when they did prevented them from forcing the dialogue the Democrats so desperately don't want to have, with the eyes and ears of the American people attuned closely to the proceedings.

From forcing what dialog? They simply aren't in a place on the issue to force a dialog.

The GOP, the loyal opposition, must maintain a straight negative no to all things Democrat--abortion, sodomite marriage, socialized medicine, etc, etc, etc.

Laughable as the GOP only puts up a good "public" negative towards those things while getting abortions for their wives and daughters, having homosexual affairs, and using healthcare paid for by the American people.

Ain't much difference at all between the GOP and their brethren across the aisle.

A lot of smoke and mirrors.

To be against everything is not loyal or smart. It is simply being obstructionist.

In your case, you can add "from the GOP," after "everything."

I didn't see the Democrats giving anything other than a straight negative no to things GOP when the GOP was in power so I don't know what you are talking about over there in Prague. A very good debating strategy for the negative is "no." The GOP was not elected to cooperate with abortion, sodomite marriage, and socialized medicine. They were elected to stand up and say, no, no, no, as the abolitionist GOP said no to slavery while the Democrats were the slaveholders who probably said that abolitionists were obstructionists and that Dred Scott was right just as you CTB probably say that Roe V. Wade is right.

If everything offered is bad and unAmerican then we should say no to everything.
