This, or variations of it, are all over the web:

Ted Williams never did it. Not Carl Yastrzemski. Not Carlton Fisk. Not even Pedro Martinez and Curt Schilling, who ended The Curse nearly a decade ago but did it on the road. Practically no one alive can remember seeing such an event unfold: The Boston Red Sox could win a World Series title on the celebrated green grass at Fenway Park.

Well, I DO remember Game 7 in 1975. I'm pretty sure there are millions of other people that remember it as well. What am I missing here?

You mean, other than the fact that Cincinnati won that series? Nothing, I guess.

Note, ITL, it says "win a World Series Title on the celebrated green grass at Fenway Park." Game seven was at Fenway, to be sure, but Boston didn't win it.

In 1918, they won at Fenway, so it would be accurate to say "practically no one alive can remember ... " because anyone who could remember would be well over 90 years old.

Article from today says the Red Sox "COULD win a World Series..." In 1975 the Red Sox were in the same position, they "COULD win a World Series at Fenway."

    It's clumsy writing and confusing.
