Just another reason that the Nkjv is what the 1611 translators would have done if alive today!

1873 Cambridge KJV text of Scrivener

If I remember correctly, you asked that question or a similar one before, and I answered it.

Some Zondervan editions of the KJV beginning around the year 2000 were based on the 1873 Cambridge edition of the KJV edited by F. H. A. Scrivener [not on his later 1894 TR edition].

Some later editions of the KJV printed by Hendrickson Publishers were also based on the 1873 Cambridge edition of the KJV.

The KJV edition in the 2005 Hendrickson Parallel Bible and in the 2008 New Hendrickson Parallel Bible was also that edition.

Those KJV editions did have the preface to the 1873 Cambridge edition in them, which may help readers know which ones use that text. Another way to determine if a present KJV edition is based on the 1873 Cambridge text is to check Hebrews 10:23 to see whether it has "hope" [1873] or "faith" or to check Matthew 23:24 to see whether it has "strain out" [1873] or "strain at."

The KJV editions based on the 1873 Cambridge edition differ from those KJV editions based on the 1769 Oxford edition in a number of places. Some of those differences are the places where Scrivener went back to 1611 renderings.

    thanks!

So his revisions in both 1873/1984 would have resulted in the best TR available to use in translation work then?
