It wouldn't even be part of the considerations.

What does that have to do with his qualifications for the office?

I have no problem with it at all. I'd not even take it into discussion.

Now, with that being said, if someone were to ask, I don't advise interracial marriages. But ONLY based on societal views and cultural differences that would make such a union difficult. I do not have a problem with it personally, and certainly do not see it as wrong.

In fact, a multicultural marriage in the pastorship might help grow the church with cultural diversity.

Edited to add: I am assuming you meant "inter color" marriages. As most interracial marriages aren't even noticed. Such as an Irish/German marriage. Or an English/Swedish marriage.

It would depend on his qualification and character/reputation as well as her character/reputation. Race should not be an issue so why the question.

 racism is a denial of the Image-bearer doctrine.

I am friends with a local black Baptist pastor who is married to a white lady. He told me that he believes that his ministry has been hindered because of his mixed marriage.

Well then I would advise those critics to review Numbers 12 where it opens with "Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite." (NIV) The Lord was displeased with Miriam and Aaron to say the least.

Let me clarify - the pastor said that it was the non-Christians in the area who was not accepting of the mixed marriage.

Not only would I not use race as a consideration, I would bring church discipline to anyone that did. You are right about the other thread, the hair thread is the most ridiculous and unfounded I have ever seen.

Did you graduate from BJU? BJU once held such a false view which I find no basis for in scripture. You know legalists whom hold such a view are really asking for some open air preaching and confrontation by Way of the Master evangelists.

The Bible does not teach that interracial marriage is wrong and only legalist fundamentalists believe in such a thing.

This has to be in the south correct? Such views were common in SC, but not so common in California.
