...The most important point is that Mr. Obama does not consider himself bound by the Constitution. He could not have made that more clear. He has drawn a line in the concrete and we cannot ignore it.

Those who currently hold political office, and who want to keep our system of government, need to act now. Surely, rejection of the Constitution is grounds for impeachment and charges should be filed. In addition, there are many other actions that Congressmen can and should take—actions that will tell Mr. Obama that we have seen where he is going and we will not let our country go without a fight.

At the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked what form of government had been created. “A republic,” he replied, “if you can keep it.”

We are losing it. If Mr. Obama’s reach for unprecedented power is not stopped, that will be the end. Everyone who values his life and liberty should find some way to say “No!” “Not now!” “Not yet!” “Not ever!”

    Yep.

Once again, I feel compelled to remind everyone of what this socialist trash said about the Constitution when a state senator and not long removed from being a constitutional law lecturer at the University of Chicago (where, to hold such a position, I would presume he should have known something about the document, but this you.tube piece featuring his statement in a radio interview in 2001 leaves one wondering):

Does anyone really think Harry Reid would ever allow the Senate to convict Obama even if the House did impeach him.

If Obama leaves office before a race war breaks out we will be fortunate.

    Agreed....

....but, no one seems to be willing to do this! Funny isn't it? Have our leaders become to corrupt and crooked that the truth and upholding the truth is not that important any more?

Then again, maybe they all think that since Billy beat the impeachment charges, they might lose votes for taking on the man whom the blacks, the entitled, the illegals and gays think so highly of! Plus, I've heard some of my black friends [that are not supporting Obama] that the black community as a whole would be willing to riot across the nation if anyone "tried to remove their man" or "tried to remove Obamacre!" :tear:

Sadly I believe that the corruption of leadership is not limited to the White House. I believe that there is some corrupt leadership in the military and Intelligence Service. Regarding Benghazi It was known immediately that the attack was by a terrorist group. The military did nothing and allowed Obama to do what he does best, LIE for days and said nothing. Furthermore they did nothing to send aid.

People generally think of only the four that were killed but there were 30 or more additional people at risk in Benghazi. The military knows who gave the order to do nothing and yet say nothing. Then there is General Petraeus, an person I have always respected. He lied to Congress 3 days after the raid about who the perpetrators were. Obviously some in the State Department lied and those who told the troth were punished!

Only the Democrats can impeach Obama. And has been pointed out above, that is not likely to happen. We have a better chance of getting Obama to resign and retire to Mecca to study the "great" religion that he learned in school in Indonesia.

Where he will then become a terrorist bent on destruction of the U.S.

    Oh, wait ...

    He already is. Never mind.

I don't know why you don't believe me that he is the greatest Democrat ever. I mean, it doesn't take much to be the greatest one of them. OK, I concede that Grover Cleveland wasn't so bad but Wilson and FDR and Carter?

The standard for impeachment of a President is treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. A disregard of the Constitution is not specific enough. The reality of the situation is the House might impeach, but the Senate would never come close to a two thirds vote to convict.

Here are some specific examples which any one is enough to meet the standard of high crimes and misdemeanors.

    1. IRS targets Obama’s enemies: The IRS targeted conservative and pro-Israel groups prior to the 2012 election. Questions are being raised about why this occurred, who ordered it, whether there was any White House involvement and whether there was an initial effort to hide who knew about the targeting and when.

    2. Benghazi: This is actually three scandals in one:
◾The failure of administration to protect the Benghazi mission.
◾The changes made to the talking points in order to suggest the attack was motivated by an anti-Muslim video
◾The refusal of the White House to say what President Obama did the night of the attack

    3. Watching the AP: The Justice Department performed a massive cull of Associated Press reporters’ phone records as part of a leak investigation.

    4. Rosengate: The Justice Department suggested that Fox News reporter James Rosen is a criminal for reporting about classified information and subsequently monitored his phones and emails.

    5. Potential Holder perjury I: Attorney General Eric Holder told Congress he had never been associated with “potential prosecution” of a journalist for perjury when in fact he signed the affidavit that termed Rosen a potential criminal.

    6. The ATF “Fast and Furious” scheme: Allowed weapons from the U.S. to “walk” across the border into the hands of Mexican drug dealers. The ATF lost track of hundreds of firearms, many of which were used in crimes, including the December 2010 killing of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

    7. Potential Holder Perjury II: Holder told Congress in May 2011 that he had just recently heard about the Fast and Furious gun walking scheme when there is evidence he may have known much earlier.

    8. Sebelius demands payment: HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius solicited donations from companies HHS might regulate. The money would be used to help her sign up uninsured Americans for ObamaCare.

    9. The Pigford scandal: An Agriculture Department effort that started as an attempt to compensate black farmers who had been discriminated against by the agency but evolved into a gravy train delivering several billion dollars in cash to thousands of additional minority and female farmers who probably didn’t face discrimination.

    10. GSA gone wild: The General Services Administration in 2010 held an $823,000 training conference in Las Vegas, featuring a clown and a mind readers. Resulted in the resignation of the GSA administrator.

    11. Veterans Affairs in Disney World: The agency wasted more than $6 million on two conferences in Orlando. An assistant secretary was fired.

    12. Sebelius violates the Hatch Act: A U.S. special counsel determined that Sebelius violated the Hatch Act when she made “extemporaneous partisan remarks” during a speech in her official capacity last year. During the remarks, Sebelius called for the election of the Democratic candidate for governor of North Carolina.

    13. Solyndra: Republicans charged the Obama administration funded and promoted its poster boy for green energy despite warning signs the company was headed for bankruptcy. The administration also allegedly pressed Solyndra to delay layoff announcements until after the 2010 midterm elections.

    14. AKA Lisa Jackson: Former EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson used the name “Richard Windsor” when corresponding by email with other government officials, drawing charges she was trying to evade scrutiny.

    15. The New Black Panthers: The Justice Department was accused of using a racial double standard in failing to pursue a voter intimidation case against Black Panthers who appeared to be menacing voters at a polling place in 2008 in Philadelphia.

    16. Waging war all by myself: Obama may have violated the Constitution and both the letter and the spirit of the War Powers Resolution by attacking Libya without Congressional approval.

    17. Biden bullies the press: Vice President Biden’s office has repeatedly interfered with coverage, including forcing a reporter to wait in a closet, making a reporter delete photos, and editing pool reports.

    18. AKPD not A-OK: The administration paid millions to the former firm of then-White House adviser David Axelrod, AKPD Message and Media, to promote passage of Obamacare. Some questioned whether the firm was hired to help pay Axelrod $2 million AKPD owed him.

    19. Sestak, we’ll take care of you: Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel used Bill Clinton as an intermediary to probe whether former Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) would accept a prominent, unpaid White House advisory position in exchange for dropping out of the 2010 primary against former Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.).

    20. I’ll pass my own laws: Obama has repeatedly been accused of making end runs around Congress by deciding which laws to enforce, including the decision not to deport illegal immigrants who may have been allowed to stay in the United States had Congress passed the “Dream Act.”

There are more but this is taken from

What is so irritating about this is the way the press pounded Richard Nixon daily about Watergate and Ronald Reagan about Iran-Contra. These scandals are infinitely worse. And imagine this, nothing was ever said about Lyndon Johnson and the money made off Bell Helicopter which made a profit from the Vietnam War.

Precisely. Be ready to be called a liberal.

    Exactly.

IMO, only Benghazi rises to the "high crimes" status and one that can directly implicate Obama. However, I would also put on the list the various assassinations carried out via drones against alleged terrorists that were also US citizens and also against civilians, even if inadvertent.

BTW, check this out. Salon and the LA Times both had stories on the number of drone strikes since Obama set out his rules for using drones in a speech in May 2013. Salon says the drone strikes have increased; the LA Times say they have decreased. Hmmmm.....

Salon: Rising number of drone killings raises questions about Obama’s rules for use. The number of deaths has risen in Yemen and Pakistan in the six months since the president imposed constraints.

LA Times: U.S. drone strikes down since curbs were imposed. Since President Obama adopted stricter targeting guidelines, the number of lethal missile strikes has dropped.

"High" doesn't mean big. It means crime and misdemeanors (misbehaviors) in high places.

An impeachable offense is anything the Congress says it is.
