....."clean up your mess" as best you can at your table/booth when eating at a restaurant?

A friend of mine says that leaving a mess behind at your table/booth is not leaving a good testimony.

I could see where it could possibly leave a poor impression----but, then, OTOH isn't that part of that establishment's wait staff and/or buss boys responsibilities?

(NOTE: PLEASE stay on topic here! I'm not interested in reading about rants on tipping or how demanding of the wait staff one should be. :BangHead:)

    We always help out....

I see no problem with stacking things orderly. Both my wife and I have worked in the restaurant business, and we know how to stack the dishes. We never get an acknowledgement from the wait staff for making their job easier, but we don't do it for that reason! I think it is appreciated, and over all, it helps them to remove the used dishes and paper waste in an efficient manner!

Good question, looking forward to hearing from others.

I don’t know about “good testimony,” to me it is simply common courtesy. Yes we always leave the dishes stacked and the table cleaned up. Not because we are Christians, but simply because we are human.

Good manners are a mark of respect for other people, no matter what role they play in your life. Likewise, poor manners are a mark of disrespect.
