Why indeed???

This from another thread, but it reminds me of a situation in my church some 5 years ago.

Bottom line being that there were 2 staff members that were not, I repeat NOT, fulfilling their job requirements, and the deacons (between pastors) had agreed that each one was to be given notice to find employment elsewhere.

Mind you, the term was a full year to make the change, with no change in salary or benefits for that duration. This was supposed to be, SUPPOSED TO BE, confidential with no one knowing except the deacons, personnel, and the two staff members. More than ample time for the two to make arrangements and leave with the congregation knowing no different than a standard change of service.

HOWEVER, one of the personnel committee members blabbed, and the gossip train left the station with wheels screaming.
Only the second time in my life when I've been in a church with a big brouhaha exploding; other time I was about 10-12 y.o.
At any rate, what should have been a very quiet and un-eventful transition erupted into a major church split that caused many members to vacate to other churches in the area, and bushels of hard feelings to boot.

All because one person did not agree with the decision made by the very people who were voted to make decisions.

All this to say, many of y'all have made your dissatisfaction known with the admins, and unless you are trying to stir up your own private little war, what do you hope to accomplish???

The decision has been made, your objections have been noted, NOW let the admins continue to do their job without comments from those who DO NOT KNOW ALL THE FACTS.
