It's OK as long as you use a thesaurus to find a synonym for the word you REALLY want to use.

Those who want to accuse me of writing posts without any Bible details to be referenced and tested - are free to do so. I do not consider a reference to actual content saying the texts are not even being appealed to or they are set as the focus -- is the issue in John's thread.

Reporting a fact - that Bible texts are being appealed to or not - to make a point is not what I call vitriol, name calling, ad hominem, acrimony.

And if you read the thread that John of Japan posted - I don't see that getting much mention as pertaining to what he is speaking to.

Let me know if you find something to that effect.

    in Christ,

    Bob

That wasn't the point of the OP. It was acrimony and vitriol and one has shown you practice it as well.

And the post by Ryan about "Bible vacuous posts" should be offensive to all.

Nope "Bible vacuous" means no Bible in those posts - just rant... vitriol...acrimony...diatribe.... ad hominem.

You know -- 'the usual and customary' at least for a few.

Or intentionally avoid answering direct questions.

One may post an unlimited number of rabbit trail off-subject questions in response to a post with Bible details they wish to avoid.

I think we all know that.

Now and then I simply point out that people are "doing that".

    in Christ,

    Bob

And one can make all the excuses one can not to answer direct questions.

I find it "instructive" that the "evil" of staying on the subject of the title of the thread, and paying attention to the "Bible details" specific to that subject -- never shows up as a "problem" in John of Japan's thread discussing the habits of some on the BB.

Of course unwillingness to answer pointed questions which directly address the OP discourse, in itself exposes the flaws of the doctrine in question.

One thing I learned early on when I began debate is that if I could not, or refused, to answer questions raised challenging my position, I lost any credibility as a 2Tim2:15 bible student.

But I did not dig my heels in and make up excuses for not giving an answer, I humbled myself and dug a little deeper into the Word and Commentaries, preparing myself to have a sound defense of my pov the next time I engaged. Or, abandoned my pov because I was shown it did not hold up to the scrutiny of questioning and real life application.

It's not good to be as the LORD said, a "stiff necked people".

I beg to differ - and in my case - I have "details" -- actual facts in real life.

Thus stuck in "gaming mode" or "detail avoidance" mode may find this to be "just so many more details to be avoided" - but the true objective unbiased readers - will 'notice the point'

    in Christ,

    Bob

Yes because that is what you are. :BangHead: And honest about avoiding questions too.
