Since there are over 500 members of Congress, I don't think 29 will make much of a difference.

    They do have legitimate points.

It will be headline news on Fox News for the next couple of days . Be in the hourly rotation for a week after that.

They must be singing to their own choir as they simply look silly to the congregation.

The MAJOR one, that they can do anything other than gather a few comments on FOX and right-wing media. But in reality, if this was their checking account they would end up in the red. It is a waste of time and money.

    Huh?? [IMG]

Good. I thought I was the only one.

Nice, easy, one-syllable words (except for "again" so he may not understand).

    ::: hiding and watching :::

I count 29 names on this list and I cross checked them member list of the House Judiciary Committee. There are several people's names on both list.

However, this is never going to happen.

The House Judiciary Committee acts like a grand jury. And even if they do have legitimate grounds for impeachment, they have to document evidence in an investigation that he has committed these crimes.

And that will never happen. All of his "people" take the fall for him. All of the time.

But let's say someone does and the impeachment proceeding head to the Senate.

He must be found guilty of at least one charge by a 2/3's majority of the Senate.

THAT will never happen. He would be like Johnson and Clinton ..... impeached, but acquitted and moved on to finish his term. I remember watching the impeachment of Bill Clinton on television. I remember watching those Democratic senators talking about him with such disdain before and after the proceedings. One would have thought Clinton would have been tossed out on his ear. They couldn't do it. If the Democrats had tossed out their own man, the next presidential election would have been a disaster for them.

It's never going to go beyond those 29 names in the OP. The House Judiciary Committee won't get to it.

Besides, let's just do a really big PRETEND here and pretend he is impeached AND found guilty.

You think the Rodney King rioting was bad? President Obama would be a martyr in the eyes of his supporters and the United States would be torn asunder by chaos.

And the worst of all? Joe Biden would be President.

Lots of people's cries throughout history have been deemed as ineffectual and "silly".

It didn't make them wrong and it didn't make the ones they cried out about right.

It just made them a small number.

I do not think it would be a good idea. It would make Obama a martyr. But they need to stop Obama from bypassing the constitution.

I don't think impeachment and conviction would make him a martyr.

Someone doing away with him, on the other hand ...

That might create a sympathetic backlash, which is exactly what Johnson got in lying about JFK's agenda and getting the "Great Society" legislation passed, even though none of it was even on Kennedy's radar before he died.

I believe the NAACP would start riots in the streets blaming the racist Tea Party

Facts overcome emotion, usually, though I've got to admit, it would be a difficult sale. Still, I think once the real people, not the facade the NAACP claims is their base, heard the facts, they'd have a hard time buying into the hyperbole that the race industry would be bound and determined to raise.

Obama meeting the standard of impeachment AND conviction is one point, and reality is another. Everyone always forgets about the conviction phase in the Senate, a two thirds majority in a Democrat Senate. Duhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Most of the posts are vague. They talk about exceeding the authority of or failing to carry out the duties of the Constitution. Given that, Congress is about the last institutuion who should judge anyone. Here is a collection of thieves who disrespect the Constitution daily, both houses, both parties. They fail to govern, protect this nations treasury and assets, and steal daily from the American people. They cannot do their jobs as perscribed by the Constitution. They take off more days than they work, and when they do work, they do not govern, but play political games.

Congress is a disgrace and has no right to judge anyone. When one elects a low standard President, and elects a low standard Congress as a check, then one reaps what one sows.
