I added Baptist to the title to make it appropriate for this thread.

It just turned midnight here in Japan. The wife's asleep already, but I stopped playing Civ III long enough to look out the window of our 5th floor apt. at the fireworks bursting over the beautiful night view of our lovely city here in Hokkaido, Japan.

May all on the BB have a wonderful 2014 serving God in our respective Baptist churches. :wavey:

I'm going to celebrate with eggnog tonight. I have nearly half a gallon's worth.

It's still morning here in the US.

A whole half gallon? Whoa!

My wife made some yesterday and it was delicious.

Happy New year to you as well. I attend my church, however I find it hard to serve them in their evangelism or "soul winning efforts" as they are very Arminian based and I am Reformed. They disagree and so I will not serve with them.

Lord willing this year my wife will see the errors and we will join a Reformed Baptist Church as where I fit in best.

I bought a half gallon tonight for my wife. Lots of flavors of the nog and some of them taste really good!!! If you live in the South you can't beat Publix, otherwise Robinson's and Traditional eggnog are the best. But stay away from Soy, and organic Nog.

Have it with my parents. Nothing out of the ordinary. Usually do it with the rest of the family, fourteen in all. But everybody is just zonked out!

HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED NEW YEAR 2014!:godisgood:

My wife zonked out too. (Just the two of us nowadays, far from the relatives and our only son.) I'm more of a late night person though.

May you and yours have a wonderful 2014! :type:

We had a nice, relaxing day here in Japan. Outside a blizzard was raging, so we stayed indoors all day, relaxing together. I watched a chick flick with and for Patty, "Hope Floats." In the evening we had a delicious white bean soup Patty made, then had some eggnog while we watched "Fellowship of the Rings." Tomorrow we'll finish the trilogy.

I hope everyone is having a great New Year's Day.

One last thought for this thread. In Asia it is the Year of the Horse. In America is it the Year of the Duck?

As long as the motto of the Rebellion isn't "Duck!"

Yesterday, on the first Sunday of the New Year, Mrs. O. came to church for the 2nd time and asked many intelligent questions in SS.

Ushiro San's friend Miss I. came for the first time and asked no questions, then went to the back and slept and snored on the carpet next to the heater for the whole service. After the service she said, "I haven't slept that good in a long time!" When I took Ushiro and his friend home we came to the 7-11 on the left we had stopped at on the way to church. (They had not had breakfast.) Miss I. said, "Oh, a 7-11." I said, "That's the one we stopped at." Miss I. said, "That one was on the right side of the road." :BangHead:

It's going to be an interesting year.:jesus:
