I was sent the stuff below, being quoted, by a KJVO who seex to convince me his KJVO myth is correct, & my replies to his horse feathers. (My replies are not quotes.)

So do many other versions, both English, and other languages.

Same for many other versions. YOU CANNOT PROVE DIFFERENTLY.

    See my above answer.

Yes, there ARE! I, and others, have pointed several of them out to you. Yhy you continue to believe foolishness in face of FACTS is beyond me.

You believe WRONGLY. We've pointed out & discussed several of the KJV's goofs...and they ARE goofs, and nothing you can say or do will un-goof them.

Not any more than in any other version.

ABSOLUTELY FALSE! that's some of RUCKMAN'S garbage, phony as a Chevy Mustang.

Another wrong belief! if the English isn't an accurate translation of the original languages, it's not a translation, but a man-made version.

To suggest that ANY translation can be used to improve the original languages texts is akin to stating the KJV IS same as the originals!

The full title of the Church of England's second authorized version (a.k.a. the "King James Bible") has been, as can be demonstrated as far back as 1772: The Holy Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments: newly translated out of the original tongues and with the former translations diligently compared and revised, by his Majesty's special command.

Those former translations are the Bishop's Bible, the Geneva Bible, the Great Bible (authorized by his Majesty's special command), Tavener-Rogers-Coverdale-Tyndale, Rogers-Coverdale-Tyndale, Coverdale-Tyndale, and Tyndale.

It must also be noted that the KJV was not the last, let alone the only, version of the Bible to be authorized by the Church of England: "The Revised Version (or English Revised Version)... was the first and remains the only officially authorized and recognized revision of the King James Bible."

I'm sure that whole "authorized" business carries a lot of weight with the Anglicans. Outside of that context, it's a misleading nickname at best.

    Robycop -

Robycop, that's a hard act to follow. But it is rather typical of the KJVo adherents with whom I've dealt. I'm torn between tearing my hair out and tearing their hair out. (Cf Ezra and Nehemiah.)

I mentioned in another thread, the whole KJVo premise is simply a form of legalism. It provides the adherent with a feeling of righteousness based on their 'faithfulness'.

Speaking of goofy ideas, I have heard KJVo adherents claim the 'Authorized' means 'Authorized by God' and not King James or the Church of England.

I'm fairly sure those adherents were poorly informed, even for KJVo's.

the translators themselves acknowledged that other versions, such as ones you listed, were word of God, that they were merely improving on their prior work, and that it was NOT a perfect version, as others would follow them to improve on their workl also!

it might have been just seen by them as official bible for church of england only anyways!

It's a KJVO excuse, just another one they use to try to justify the man-made KJVO myth in their own minds.

It'd hurt YOU less to tear THEIRS out.

Trouble is, that "faithfulness" is in MEN, the men who conjured up the KJVO myth.

Yes, they have a hard time dealing with the FACT that Henry VIII not only 'authorized' the "Great Bible"; he expressly commanded several translators to make it!
