    ..... Presumptuous sin?

    In Psalm 19:13 David prays to God that He wanted Him to "Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;...."

    Since God did not keep David back from committing adultery with Bathsheba and from killing her husband (both of which are clear violations of two of the the Ten Commandments), I'm wondering what exactly constitutes a presumptuous sin.

    I'd like to read what you believe is a presumptuous sin.

    Well, with the word presumptuous being defined as it is ....

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    pre·sump·tu·ous
    priˈzəmpCH(o͞o)əs/
    adjective
    adjective: presumptuous
    1.
    (of a person or their behavior) failing to observe the limits of what is permitted or appropriate.
    "I hope I won't be considered presumptuous if I offer some advice"
    synonyms:brazen, overconfident, arrogant, bold, audacious, forward, familiar, impertinent, insolent, impudent, cocky; More~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I would have to say that "failing to observe the limits of what is permitted or appropriate" in regard to sin would be sinning on purpose and with deliberate intention TO sin.
    You would be sinning, fully aware that you are sinning, and you don't really care.
    Seems I've seen it translated as 'bold' sin. I take it to mean something along the lines of:
    For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another. Gal 5:13
    as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God. 1 Pet 2:16
    Maybe even going so far as sinning with the idea that 'God loves me, Christ died for me, so I already know this sin will be forgiven before I do it'. That would be presumptuous, I would think.
    Same as above
    That's my understanding; knowing something is wrong and doing it anyway.
    I have heard - don't remember where - it includes the idea that the sinner knows God will forgive him in spite of the magnitude of the sin.
    ... not that I know anyone who might have done...
