Indiana State Senator David Long of Fort Wayne and others are calling for a Constitutional Convention. They met recently at their own expense at Mount Vernon to discuss what could be done:

It seems as if it might be a good way to improve the country and it is constitutional to have such a convention.

What is your opinion?

The danger, as I pointed out on another similar thread in the last week or so, is that all the socialist nutjobs will come to such a convention with their agenda and quite likely attempt to "pack" it with delegates who will vote out the entire Constitution in favor of a completely new, socialist document. I'd support it if I thought it would work. Instead, the result will likely trigger the breakup of the United States into at least three new countries and a few nation-states that will quickly fail and have to join one of the other three. Either way, constitutional convention or not, that is probably the inevitable fate of our nation, sad as that is to acknowledge. The already-existing Southern National Congress, Texas (a member of the SNC but a state that will likely go it alone), and a collection of Northeastern, northern Midwestern, and West Coast states will form those three new nations or sociopolitical economic partnerships, with the rest falling where they may. That fits quite nicely with the fact that the Revelation has no entity remotely resembling the United States in it.

I think that each state gets one vote at such a convention. The Dems have shown that the current US Constitution means nothing to them--they call it a living document, meaning that it can be interpreted anyway they want.

Of course TND, that is open to some debate. I see possiblities for at least some resemblance. I would like to look at Rev 12:14:
It may not be a majority interpretation, but I would like to think that the eagle in Rev 12:14 is the United States, the one nation that helps the woman (Israel) when she is persecuted by the serpent (antichrist).

Not saying that is the only way to look at that verse, but as a patriotic American, I can hope. I also read Rev 18:8-11 and wonder if it is our nation that will be destroyed in a single hour.

Sorry I know that is off the topic of the Constitutional Convention, but perhaps the USA sticks around for a while.

The bylaws and rules of the Convention will be determined at the Convention when it convenes. Nothing like this has ever been done since the original convention in 1787. The rules will be what the majority of voters at the convention want them to be.

In other words, you'd support it if the result was exactly what you w2ant regardless of the will of the majority of American people, right?
