Yeah,I just don't get that grammar of the KJV when the Geneva Bible reds so much better.

In verses 4,5 and 6 they all start with "I made me..." In verse 7 "I got me."
The word "gat" was probaly going out of fashion in 1611. "Have provided" is so much better.

Are you suggesting that you and others cannot see inconsistent or non-standard English grammar in the KJV [at least non-standard according to today's standard English]?

Have you done a comparision of the KJV and Geneva Bibles? A good deal of the time they read the same --but on a lot of occasions the latter reads so much better than the KJV.

Thank you for posting this parallel from Ecclesiastes. I used it to expose to a man, raised on the NIV, how that God hid the things of the Spirit from the natural man.

When he saw the wording in Ecc 3:11:
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time:also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
He realized a thread throughout the scriptures, that God hid wisdom and eternity from man.
    He said it helped greatly.

    You're welcome.
So how did he grasp the concept of eternity, since it's not in the text of the KJV?
Perhaps reviewing the whole verse in the NIV is needed.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart;yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

ESV : Also,he put eternity into man's heart
NASBU : He has set eternity in their heart
HCSB : He put eternity in their heart
NLTSE : He has planted eternity in the human heart

    Rather clear.

    Yes it is:
    Ecc 3:11
11 God made alle thingis good in her tyme, and yaf the world to disputyng of hem, that a man fynde not the werk which God hath wrouyt fro the bigynnyng til in to the ende.
    (WYC)

    Ecc 3:11
11 He hath made everything beautiful in its time; also he hath set the world in their heart, so that man findeth not out from the beginning to the end the work that God doeth.
    (Darby)

Verse 11 shows cause and effect.
    God did this....
    That this...would result.

In the M.V.'s quoted above, the wording changes to mean,: "despite God's best efforts, man still can't ...

    I believe in this God:
    Mar 4:11
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God:but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

    Rom 16:25
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

    1Co 2:7-11
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew:for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

    Col 1:26
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

    Crystal clear.

I don't think there is any cause and effect going on in Ecc. 3:11.
    Only in your imagination.

Out of bounds there Bud. There is one God. Don't dare suggest otherwise.

So let's get some thing settled. Every person is a creature of eternity. Everyone, whether saved or unregenerate, has a soul that will exist for eternity. God has set that in the human heart. But on the other hand no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

I'm not "Bud", I'm Michael, but you can call me 'prophet'.

If "so that" between phrases doesn't show cause and effect to you, you don't speak English well enough to stay in this conversation.
