I detect some homerism in the ALC pick. I don't see how the Astros will escape the cellar. Hard to bet against the Cardinals with that pitching staff. I think the Mets finish in last place. Same with the Blue Jays .

I'll post my picks just before the season starts, if I remember.

    Let me correct your errors

    American League East

    New York Yankees

    Boston Red Sox

    American League Central

    Who cares?

    American League West

    Who cares?

    National League East

    New York Mets

    National League Central

    Who cares?

    National League West

    Who cares?

AL Playoffs: Yankees beat Red Sox. Nothing else matters.

NL Playoffs: Mets beat somebody. Nothing else matters.

World Series: Yankees beat Mets 4-3

I may be a bit biased in my pre-season predictions. I reserve the right to make endless excuses for poor performance throughout the season. :tongue3:

There might be a little bit, but the Royals are the pick in the ALC of most major publicans this winter.
Simple. The Mariners are in the league.

I agree, but they're going to need to score runs, and I think they're production will be down this year. They'll make the playoffs anyway, as a wild card, but the Diamondbacks are going to win the National League.
Those were toss-ups. Could go either way.
Oh, don't worry. I'll be sure to remind you.

Ive already been there so dont rub it in. I support them cause they perform without much economic or stadium incentive & they still perform. whether they win or loose they still rank high in the standings, they hustle & so Im a FAN! Go Rays :love2:

They're my favorite team after the Twins. They've got the pitching but need more than Longoria and Zobrist on offense. Maybe Wil Myers can help them this year (and make TND fume that the Royals traded him) I like the Royals as well but no way are they winning the division.

I reject your reality and replace it with my own. :wavey: This is my default position. Reality kicks in right after the All-Star break. By then the local collegiate wood bat league starts and I can sit in the stands and eat a hot dog in peace.

That's the exact same reason I like the Royals -- aside from having grown up near and now living in metro KC -- and I admire the Rays for the same reason. I'd love to see an ALCS between us, since we can't ever do a World Series together.

Don't worry -- I'll go gently on you when we win! :wavey:

    Sorry, KC isnt ready, yet.
Chicago has the best bullpen, Detroit has the best starters.
    Chicago added some big bats
Is Chris Getz still at 2nd?
    Of so, there's one strike.

KC has been almost there for 3 years, and I don't see that changing, sorry.

Tampa is in a similiar boat, except for their post season appearances, which KC has none of.

Texas is still off a step, and the A's may get better.

Now there is a true old schooler........Brother, we should try to get together one of these years. I really would love to pick your brains on your experiences putting a church together. Maybe its just harder to do here. My wifes uncle Al has a place up by Hunter Mountain & he stocks quail & I also hear the trout fishing is wonderful in Lake Geneva. BTW, have you heard anything about Ole Jim (a fellow Welshman) up in Canada? He was a (and I hope still is) a sweet old man.

Actually, KC stunk until last season. Losing records for nine straight years. They've got the bullpen, improved defense and hitting in the offseason ... Detroit and Chicago are done, Proph, sorry. :type:

Well YOU have to like the Twins. :love2:

don't tell anybody, especially Padre, but the Mets (the Mess) followed by the Bronx Bombers were my childhood teams. In those days you had one TV in the house with just a few stations & lousy reception.....but we were there every day & night flippin between channel 9 (the Mets) & channel 11 (the Yanks) then after the games watched Ralph Kiner (the voice of the Mets) who just died on the 6th....RIP. That was our sports channel. Boy, what memories.

KC dropped off the scene, due to unfortunate events, and played spoiler. They have been capable of a wild card run at the beginning of the last 3 seasons, and not made it, but they aren't champ material. They sold that opp, when they traded Zack.

Chicago added some bats to one of the best pitching staffs in the A.L.

Detroit isnt that far off, with starting pitching capable of 60+ wins, w/o relief.

Butler deserves to play on a pennant winning squad, but 2014 KC aint it.

You're a number of years behind. We traded Greinke four years ago. We've finished last or next to last in the division up until last year. We've been no where near qualifying for the wild card until last year. This year, I'm confident we'll win the division.
I think you need to review that one a bit.

ESPN: 2013 MLB Team Pitching States

Kansas City's pitching staff was 6th, your Sox were 19th.
Not far off KC, true. They were 9th last year.
Spoken like a Sox fan ticked off that KC won the season series last year.
