Years ago I received a speeding ticket and went to defensive driving school to get the point removed off of my license. The guy teaching it was a cop. I remember that even though no on in our class brought the issue up he kept emphasizing that we need to not worry about whether cops are ever speeding. They have a job to do and it wasn't our worry and we should just trust them.

I do not think anyone in that class did after that.

There is a small remnant of cops in Oathkeepers I trust, but not many.

Police have no business speeding - or breaking other DMV laws - unless it is for offical business - period. Getting to the donut shop is NOT offical business ( & yes that was in the viedo)

I understand that at time, the situation may call for not using strobes - but at intersections they must excerise extreme caution.

If you saw the viedo, two teenagers were killed by a cop apparently running a red light (1:20 in video) & the cop was NOT on an emergancy call.

I see that on the same level as a minister taking advantage of a person he might be counseling.

I find some of these actions disgusting.

Undoubtedly there are police officers who abuse their privilege, just as there are police officers who use excessive force. Every one of both kinds should face the consequences of his/her actions when caught. But like I've said before, the numbers among police we're talking about are far outweighed both percentage-wise and sheer numbers by the public that acts in a stupid, irresponsible manner. In the last week nationwide, there have been at least four fatal accidents involving drunk drivers going the wrong way on a divided highway, the latest happening early this morning in Kansas City.

Given a choice of being on a highway filled with police officers, versus a highway filled with the general population, I'll take driving alongside cops every time. Certainly I'd report a police officer to his superiors if I thought he was needlessly taking advantage of his uniform or his fast car. But I see far more people who don't have the uniform or the car doing utterly ignorant things. Maybe ABC ought to do a story on that.
