I won't watch the movie unless the guy portraying Jesus first gets a hair cut and puts on some pants...

I don't think Jesus is in the Noah movie (even though we know he knew about it). :)

Brother quant, the OP thread title asked about BOTH the Son of God and Noah movies. You need to put your "specks" on before posting on here...:tongue3:

I will most likely go see them, in hopes that they may generate some conversation. Then, if given the opportunity, I may address any "issues" with the film with others, hard to do that in an intellectually honest way if I don't see them myself.

From what I understand, the "Noah" movie is essentially about God being mad that they ruined the environment.

As for the "Jesus" movie, no thanks.

I wouldn't trust Hollywood to accurately represent Christianity if my life depended on it.

that shows what happened when the Church decided to boycott hollywood, and pulled out of there, as before tht time, were great movies from bible, such as ben hur, 10 Commandments, and prince of peace!

You realize those movies weren't made by Christians, right?

The problem isn't that the Church "boycotted" Hollywood, but that the Church's influence is waning in America, as a whole, as a result of its refusal to preach the Gospel and stand on Biblical principle.

Hollywood makes movies they believe make money. Period. I believe they're wrong about what they believe makes money, as study after study has shown that family friendly movies make more money, but I don't see any anti-Christian conspiracy. I just see them giving a post Christian America what they think it wants.

So the answer isn't to support Hollywood, but to go back to the days when pastors had some moral authority and stop coddling the unregenerate and trying to make ourselves attractive to the world.

That's when they'll get the message.

actually, some WERE Christians that directed and produced those films, and there could still be some to direct that, as have someone liek steven spielberg as stated that being jewish, would love to take on the OT...

imagine redone 10 commandments with his special effects!

"Son of God" is produced by husband-and-wife team Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, who also produced "The Bible" for AMC. They are Christians, not "Hollywoodians." That doesn't guarantee accuracy, but no one seemed to have a problem with "The Bible."

    :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Depending on the content and message of a religious inspired movie concerning a christian message, I suspect we might even have difficulty creating one on this board.

    :)

cecil b demille was a Christian also...

just think thatwe can have Christians in Hollywood get abck into bible epics, as there is no prohibition against doing that , as that would hep to preserve culture, bringing in salt and light!

Actually, they're not Christians. They're Catholics who practice a mixture of Catholicism and New Age beliefs.

Not sure where you got your information that nobody had a problem with The Bible, but many people had a problem with it. Chris Rosebrough, Todd Friel, Al Mohler, and Mike Abendroth devoted multiple programs to critiquing it.
