Seems like Mohler is trying to gather up as many who call themselves Christians as he can to fight against the secular worldview. I agree with him here. What we are seeing in Arizona this week is just a peek into what is coming down the road. We better all be together.

I struggle with that also but I'm part of a Pregnancy Resource Center where many Catholics and AoG and Baptists and Methodists volunteer. We do a great service for our community in the saving of babies and helping families through a difficult time in their lives. Maybe God has put me there to witness to the Catholics.

Did you watch the video? Mohler even stated that Baptists and Mormons will not go to Heaven together, meaning he didn't feel they had the true gospel. He didn't hold any punches.

We certainly cannot come together or work together theologically. However, we must at least work together politically in the area of common values or we will be spending a lot of time in jail together. If we can work together with political parties (Independent, Republicans) for a common political agenda then we can work together as theists for a common political agenda.

During 1660-1680 British Baptists called that period of twenty years "The Great Tribulation" when the Roman Catholic church ruled over England in persecuting all but Catholics. During that time, Presbyterians, Baptists, and other religious dissenters went to death and jail together and were forced to hide and worship together as the only safe place was refuges where they all able to gather. The enemy of my enemy was my friend in times like that.

That's true, and I appreciate that he did that. But the problem is that he didn't tell them why we won't be in Heaven together or how they can be in Heaven.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dr. Mohler and generally trust his judgment, but I'm not entirely comfortable with this.

Understand that, but wouldn'tthe Mormons and say JW be so far outside the Gospel that we could not link togther with them, as that would be seen as being in essential agreement with them?

Its like in Detroit Mi, as every month seems like they are calling for inter faith conference/dialog, with 'chrsitians" jews and Muslims. being shown wotking together in community affairs, and saying prayers to 'same God!"

A couple I know who were Mormons and now work among Mormons to reach them with the gospel. They have told me that when Mormons become Christians they are often most comfortable in joining an SBC church because many things are similar. This couple was boycotted from their main meeting in Salt Lake City years ago when they left the Mormon Church. I have also seen Mormons use evangelicals to show their similarity as though they are both orthodox Christians when we know there is a huge chasm in doctrine.

Here is my problem with cooperating with Mormons. The Mormon organization has been employing a strategy to be accepted as mainstream by society. All they seemingly want is a place at the table. I am not willing to grant them that. I do not want a false gospel to receive respectability in society. I have less of a problem with one-off cooperation among individuals on issues such as the sanctity of life or politics, but pretending that a false gospel is legitimate? I must draw the line.

Or Paul going to the Areopagus. I don’t see an issue with mutual cooperation, perhaps it will be an avenue to bring the gospel to these people. I am glad to see that Mohler is not accepting or validating the Mormon faith (by voice or by silence).
