Looks like there was to much information being disclosed in the original thread for the OP to handle.

So I'll continue posting it here.

“Yoga Mat” Chemical Found In Nearly 500 Foods

Washington, D.C. – The controversial “yoga mat” chemical that Vani Hari, creator of FoodBabe.com, campaigned to remove from Subway sandwich bread has turned up in nearly 500 items and more than 130 brands of bread, stuffing, pre-made sandwiches and snacks, according to an analysis by the Environmental Working Group.

According to ingredient data obtained for a new food database project that is due out later this year, EWG researchers found azodicarbonamide, an industrial “chemical foaming agent,” on the labels of many well-known brands, including Pillsbury, Sara Lee, Shoprite, Safeway, Smucker’s, Fleischman’s, Jimmy Dean, Kroger, Little Debbie, Tyson, Nature’s Own and Wonder.

Forbes Fat Cats Collect Taxpayer-Funded Farm Subsidies

The federal government paid out $11.3 million in taxpayer-funded farm subsidies to 50 billionaires or farm businesses in which they had an interest between 1995 and 2012, and changes to the farm bill being weighed by Congress could well increase their take. The billionaires profiting from farm subsidies were identified by matching EWG’s Farm Subsidy Database with the Forbes 400 list of the richest Americans.

The billionaires who received farm subsidies between 1995 and 2012 have a collective net worth of $316 billion, based on the Forbes magazine estimates. They include:

Paul Allen (Net worth: $15.8 billion)
    Co-founder of Microsoft
Charles Ergen (Net worth: $12.5 billion)
    Co-founder of DISH Network
Philip Anschutz (Net worth: $10.3 billion)
Owner of Anschutz Entertainment Group and co-founder of Major League Soccer
Leonard Lauder (Net worth: $7.6 billion)
Son of Estee Lauder and former CEO of the Estee Lauder Companies Inc.
Jim Kennedy (Net worth: $6.7 billion)
    Chairman of Cox Enterprises
    S. Truett Cathy (Net worth: $6 billion)
    Founder of Chick-fil-A
Leslie Wexner (Net worth: $5.7 billion)
CEO of L Brands Inc., which owns Victoria's Secret
Charles Schwab (Net worth: $5.1 billion)
Founder of brokerage firm Charles Schwab Corporation
Stewart & Lynda Resnick (Net worth: $3.5 billion)
Owners of POM Wonderful, Fiji Water and Teleflora
David Rockefeller, Sr. (Net worth: $2.8 billion)
Former chairman and chief executive of Chase Manhattan Bank
Penny Pritzker (Net worth: $2.2 billion)
    U.S. Secretary of Commerce

Many of these same billionaires may have also received crop insurance subsidies, but taxpayers have no way of knowing because current law prohibits the disclosure of the identities of crop insurance policyholders.

EWG’s 2014 Shopper’s Guide To Avoiding GE Food

Consumers have the right to know if their food has been genetically engineered. However, the U.S. government does not require labeling of GE foods or ingredients so that shoppers can make informed decisions. More than 60 other nations, including France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Russia, China and the United Kingdom, require GE labeling (Center for Food Safety, 2013a).

Scientists have not determined whether GE food poses risks to human health. Still, consumers have many good reasons to avoid eating genetically engineered ingredients, including:

Few safety studies: The federal government requires strict safety evaluations before new drugs go on the market but does not mandate similar safety studies for genetically engineered crops. The government does not require that GE food be tested for carcinogenicity, for harm to fetuses or for risks over the long term to animals or humans. Few such studies have been conducted by independent scientific institutions.

Superweeds and more toxic pesticides: Genetically modified, herbicide-tolerant crops have spurred so-called “superweeds,” pest plants that have mutated to survive herbicides. More than 61million acres of American farmland are infested with Roundup-resistant weeds (Farm Industry News 2013). A 2012 survey conducted by the marketing research group Stratus Agri Marketing found that nearly half of American farmers reported finding superweeds in their fields (Stratus Agri Marketing 2013). To control these hardy plants, many farmers have resorted to older, more toxic herbicides like dicamba, and 2,4-D. Both dicamba and 2,4-D are known to cause reproductive problems and birth defects and pose increased risks of cancer.

Increased pesticide use: Herbicide resistance has led to more, not less, herbicide use. According to estimates published in 2012 by Charles M. Benbrook, research professor at the Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources at Washington State University, herbicide-tolerant crops that stimulated superweed growth caused farmers to use 527 million pounds more herbicide between 1996 and 2011 than would have been the case if those farmers had planted only non-GE crops (Benbrook 2012).

Cross-contamination: According to the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), a non-profit group that records the global status of biotech crops, almost 70 million hectares of GE crops were planted in the U.S. in 2012 (ISAAA 2012), up from 64 million hectares in 2009 (ISAAA 2009). As GE crops proliferate, many organic farmers must struggle to prevent cross-contamination of their crops by GE seed or pollen spread by wind, insects, floods and machinery. Unintended GE contamination has become a major issue for organic growers hoping to sell their crops in places that strictly regulate or ban GE foods. According to an estimate by the Union of Concern Scientists, potential lost income for farmers growing organic corn may total $90 million annually (Union of Concerned Scientists 2001).

The agricultural chemical industry developed genetically engineered crops and introduced them to the market with the promise of significantly higher crop yields. While crop yields may in fact be on the rise, the contribution of GE technology is a matter of considerable debate. Some groups attribute the increase in yields to improvements in conventional agriculture (Union of Concerned Scientists 2009). Any benefits provided by GE technology have been overshadowed by increased use of toxic pesticides and proliferation of herbicide-resistant weeds.

Glyphosate induces human breast cancer cells growth via estrogen receptors. US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23756170

Currently, chronic kidney disease is killing thousands in poor farming regions like Sri Lanka. But this isn’t any ordinary kidney disease, as sufferers are developing the deadly condition without any ordinary risk factors. A recent study indicates researchers may have pinpointed the cause of the epidemic, and it’s found in Monsanto’s Roundup pesticide.

The Center for Public Integrity says fatal chronic kidney disease of unknown origin, or CKDu, has killed more people in El Salvador and Nicaragua than AIDS, diabetes, and leukemia combined over the past five years. This wave of CKDu affecting numerous poor farming countries around the world simply didn’t exist prior to 1990.

In the new study, recently published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, scientists sought to isolate the potential cause of the kidney disease that is ripping through these countries and wiping out otherwise healthy adults.

Wow! $11.3M paid out over 17 years. Oh, the waste! The scandal! Compared to the total amount of farm subsidies paid out over those years, $350 BILLION, that's like spitting in the ocean. And the $11.3M was not directly transferred into the "fat cats" personal bank accounts...

    So what's your point?

Let me guess, all the information I've posted in these two threads so far has been debunked because you think giving billionaires 11.3 million dollars doesn't matter?

Care to comment on Glyphosate induces human breast cancer cells growth via estrogen receptors?

Pretty much, yep. Giving 50 billionaires an average of $220,000 over 17 years is a fart in a hurricane.

No thanks. The credibility of the entire post was tainted by the fat cats mischaracterization. I expect more shoddy reporting so why would I read it? This is true for about 80% of the sources you post, and that number is being generous.

Why should you read anything I post if you feel that way?

Why do you keep reading my posts if you feel that way?

Obviously it's not because you have anything enlightening to add, just your low opinion of me.

I think by now everyone is already aware of that. Don't you?

    The 20% keeps me reading.

I thought my pointing out that $11M in subsidies over 17 years to 50 billionaires amounted to virtually nothing was enlightening. Just how much is a billionaire being enriched by receiving $220,000?

    There are newbies

It's probably nothing to a billionaire but why should they even get that?

Care to comment on Glyphosate induces human breast cancer cells growth via estrogen receptors? Or how about the yoga mat material found in 500 different foods, for the newbies?

    Or how about this?

FDA Spies On Whistleblowers to Protect Big Pharma

Government Power Used to Protect Corruption

    We reported in 2012:

When one of the most respected radiologists in America – the former head of the radiology department at Yale University – attempted to blow the whistle on the fact that the FDA had approved a medical device manufactured by General Electric because it put out massive amounts of radiation, the FDA installed spyware to record his private emails and surfing activities (including installing cameras to snap pictures of his screen), and then used the information to smear him and other whistleblowers:

    http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2014/03/fda-spies-whistleblowers-protect-big-pharma.html

    Or this?

A new study from the U.S. Geological Survey – soon to be published in the journal Enviromental Toxicology and Chemistry – finds that Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide (technically known as “glyphosate”) and its toxic degradation byproduct AMPA were found in over 75% of all air and rain samples in Mississippi in 2007.

Another new study – published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health – proposes that the epidemic of kidney failure found in areas with hard water is caused by an adverse reaction between Roundup and the chemicals found in hard water:

Roundup has been linked with many other diseases as well. Reuters reported last year:

Murder in the medical Matrix: the FDA Dec 27

    HIDDEN IN PLAIN VIEW

    by Jon Rappoport

    May 18, 2012

    www.nomorefakenews.com

The day of the Smoking Gun has arrived.

The discovery of a page, on the FDA’s own website, proves the FDA is fully aware that:

the drugs it certifies as safe have been killing Americans, at the rate of 100,000 per year.

    http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/Developmen...ources/DrugInteractionsLabeling/ucm114848.htm

The FDA website page is currently available under the heading, “Why Learn About Adverse Drug Reactions.”

The FDA takes no blame, no responsibility for its own actions, and yet it admits the death statistics are accurate.

As an investigative reporter, I have been tracking and writing about pharmaceutically-caused deaths for 10 years. I have, on numerous occasions, cited Dr. Barbara Starfield’s report in the July 26th, 2000, Journal of the American Medical Association, in which she presents the figure of 106,000 deaths per year, in America, as a direct result of these drugs. I have claimed that the federal government and, in particular, the FDA, are aware of these numbers.

And now the page on the FDA’s own website confirms the death toll. Yet, nowhere do we see the FDA taking one shred of responsibility for this ongoing holocaust.

Holocaust? Add up the figures. Medical drugs cause 100,000 deaths in America every year: that means a million Americans are killed every decade.

Understand this very clearly. No medical drug in America can be released for public use until and unless the FDA states it is safe. The FDA is the agency that makes every such decision on every drug. The buck stops there.
