We're going to be fine, but it's been snowing for two weeks, and we got hit with a blizzard thursday night that is just settling down, kind of. There's a HUGE drift, still over this neighborhood, and a steep fall.

This winter has been nuts, even by our standards. It's 40 below zero with the wind chill, right now. Dangerous stuff. But there's some grateful people here, today.

I read this earlier. My brother in Great Falls said it is a blistering -11 right now. That's sweater weather compared to what you're having. Praise the Lord for sparing lives.

I saw this on FNC this morning. Forgot you were up there, Curtis. As Padre said, praise the Lord and we're thanking Him for His mercy and grace.

    Bad news, today….

The Missoula Police Department has confirmed that Michel Jo Colville has died as a result of injuries received in Friday afternoon’s avalanche.
Public Information Officer Travis Welsh issued a statement on Monday, March 3, stating.
“We are saddened to report that the adult female rescued in the avalanche has succumbed her to her injuries and is deceased.”
Welsh also addressed the issue of the snowboarder who was responsible for the avalanche.
“The Missoula Police Department can confirm that snow enthusiasts have been interviewed regarding the cause of the avalanche. There are currently no charges pending, however detectives will confer with the appropriate prosecuting attorney’s Office regarding the results of the investigation and any potential criminal culpability.”
Ms. Colville, the wife of retired University of Montana Professor Fred Allendorf, was taken to St. Patrick Hospital after being rescued from the avalanche that occurred on Friday, February 28, in critical condition. Mr. Allendorf’s condition was listed as serious, but stable, and that eight year-old Phoenix Scoles was in fair condition on Sunday, according to St. Patrick Hospital Public Affairs Director Jo Ann Hoven.

We went there today, and were hauling tarps full of snow off the site, but it got too unsafe, and the M.F.D. has closed it, threw all the volunteers out and put up yellow tape around the scene, and brought the bulldozers in. The snow moved the house 80 feet west, off it's foundation, and has blocked off the street.

Sorry to hear of this woman's death. I was thinking about the snowboarders yesterday when I was praying. I'm praying for them. I doubt they went looking to start an avalanche.
