    Can you be Jewish and a Christian?

    Or are you Jewish or a Christian?

    or

    Is it like, 'Can you be Muslim and be a Christian'?

    Christian refers to the walk in faith. Jewish can refer to a people choosen by God or a belief system. Peter and John was both Jewish and Christian. A person can not hold to belief systems though. You can not hold to the Jewish faith and truly walk with Jesus. We have to give up our beliefs for faith in Him.

    I think according to Jews who are not "Messianic Jews", one cannot be a Christian and a Jew. You are one or the other.

    There are Christians who are Jewish ... I am Reformed Baptist... I know Lutherans and Presbyterians who are Jewish. Please don't get any us of confused with with "Messianic Jews" ... that would be like saying that all Christian Gentiles are Charismatics...

    All the early Christians were Jewish. Jews are saved at present just as are all unbelievers. My nephew married a young Jew who was saved by the Grace of God. She died some 3 years ago of melanomas but left behind a wonderful testimony of her faith. She asked her pastor to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified at her funeral for the benefit of her unsaved family members!

    Jesus Christ was a Jew by birth but He was much more than a "Jewish Messiah". He was and is the Savior of all who ever were or ever will be saved!

    You can be a Palestinian and Christian but you cannot be a Muslim and a Christian and that is a fact! A Muslim can be saved but he is no longer a Muslim, and in some countries he may no longer be alive!
