It seems that in the 70's the pro-abortion people ignored medical science. Since that time the advances in science have rendered the claims of the pro-abortionists even more unscientific.

Victor Davis Hanson lists some of these advances in a recent column on unscientific notions of Democrats, who probably are poorly educated:

New life exists from the moment of conception. If that conception is the result of the union of a human egg and human sperm then that new life is human. That is the simple truth!

Those who advocate the slaughter of the unborn will use any device/excuse/lie in an attempt to salve their conscience; assuming they have one. There are rare exceptions when the abortionist will concede that they are destroying human live no matter what stage in the pregnancy.

An assumption giving a great deal of latitude to most of them.

Unless you count another nervous system, heartbeat, a set of DNA different from the mother's, gonads (often that of the opposite gender), etc, as part of the mother's body, then yeah...the kid is alive and has his own body. Plus he gets most of these things pretty early on, if I remember correctly. (I used to love reading about pregnancy and the development of the unborn child.)
I agree, science says he's alive.

I believe it starts sooner than that.

    Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
    Psalm 139:16

    Life begins at inception.

Who am I to argue with you much less the Sovereign LORD and Creator of the Universe who has seen fit to reveal Himself to mankind! O if we would only believe that God is indeed God!

Nobody I know of on the board supports abortion, no matter how much their political views are twisted to imply that they do.

Nobody's view on this board gets twisted. The inconsistencies of their statements say it all.

If only you would hold Crabtownboy to the same standards you foist on everyone else. Your confrontations are awfully one-sided.

Actually that is not correct. In a poll I conducted one voter had no problem with abortion. If you have no problem with abortion you support abortion and I cannot understand how a Christian would say that.

What do you mean by that statement, with all due respect? Don't we have people on this board who say that the unborn child is scientifically not alive?

Our scientists are engaged in a search in our universe for life on other planets. If they could find just a single cell on another planet they would deem it as life. I say the same consideration should be given to a human egg at the moment of fertilization.

I mean you no disrespect but this is the kind of thing that causes Christians being mocked and the losing of the battle for truth with the abortion proponents.

That is incorrect. There are several people who support abortion. Let me give a definition of abortion. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. If a person says they are anti-abortion "except in the case of_________", then they NOT anti-abortion, but in fact they are pro abortion except in the case of.

If the person has an exception rule they are not anti-abortion. That is the game that Mitt Romney played to try and look like he was anti-abortion when he was not as well do many other people. They are making claims to something they are not.
The only true anti-abortionists are those who hold to no abortion for any reason. The rest are pro abortion for any reason or except in the case of. It is time that we be honest with ourselves even if not with others.
