A showdown is developing between a sizable number of Connecticut state police officers and the politicians who passed into law highly restrictive gun control, gun bans, and bans on high capacity magazines.

Gun rights legal expert and activist David Hardy reported Friday that 250 law enforcement officers in Connecticut have signed an open letter stating that they will not enforce the new anti-gun and magazine laws, which they consider to be a violation of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

A couple things about this. One is that the law included the police officers personal weapons so if they had been excluded my guess is they would not be so inclined. They are not protesting because they stand for the peoples rights but their own so I would not give them too much credit. Second is that the people of Connecticut have a recourse. It is called the recall vote. The problem is that Connecticut are as liberal as they come so they have brought this on themselves. The sad thing it is going to grow and spread like wildfire across this country.

All this is the result of so called conservatives selling out the rights of others while thinking they can keep theirs. Under the constitution there was no exclusions to who could own a weapon or what kind. The conservatives agreed certain people could not own a weapon and limit gun ownership from certain people (felons, domestic violence, mental illness, ect.) and now they are reaping the fruit of their labor that their rights are being put in danger from a growing liberal movement. You never take another's rights away unless you want your own to be taken away at some point in the future.

I have not read about this yet. I'll have to check this out! If an unconstitutional law was passed and the police officers are refusing to enforce it or follow it - they're simply doing their job as officers and fulfilling their obligations as American citizens. The concept is rare these days so I don't mean "simply" in a light way. If this turns out to be accurate and the way the article sounds, these officers are true patriots.
