In 2010 BioLogos president Darrel Falk wrote (emphasis added): “Option #1 [that Adam and Eve are actual historical people] is the standard argument put forward by those who believe in a young earth created by God in six twenty-four hour days less than 10,000 years ago. BioLogos exists in no small part to marginalize this view from the Church. A fundamental part of our mission is to show that Option #1 is not tenable.”

If there were no Adam and Eve there was no fall! If there was no fall there is no need for redemption! No redemption, no Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ Himself makes factual the Biblical record of Adam and Eve when He quotes from Genesis2.

    Matthew 19:3-6
    3. The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
    4. And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
    5. And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
    6. Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

    Genesis 2:22-24
    22. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
    23. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
    24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

I'm sorry...I'm not trying to insult you. Just want to see what / how our dear brother Aaron develops it.

I didn't make the statement, and it's not the point of the OP. :wavey: I wouldn't say they're not credible. That's the wrong choice of words. I think the article to which I link you in the OP fleshes out the subject well.

The only thing I listen to on YouTube is "Old School" singing so I have no idea what the "limey" was saying. It seems to me that to question the reality of Adam and Eve is to question the veracity of Jesus Christ given the following Scripture:

    Matthew 19:3-6
    3. The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
    4. And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
    5. And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
    6. Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Which in my opinion is a confirmation of the following Scripture:

    Genesis 2:22-24
    22. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
    23. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
    24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

In much the same way that "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" Understanding and knowing what someone else is "saying" also comes by listening. His position was for the veracity of Adam and Eve, as is mine.

Rest assured brothers, these Europeans are an intractable & iniquitous bunch. You may take my word for it that when these people bestow their lifestyles on our American system, it will ruin everything. Example: How do you like your Affordable Care Health system? Wait till they fiddle with our religion & moral values.....everything will be undermined. Ive advised my family to stay clear from them. We ran from them once......From the Germans, from the Italians, From East Europe & from the UK......and we have built a far better life for ourselves & our children. If we give them license they will once again attempt to corrupt us. We will all end up in in the soup together.

I said I did not listen to the man. I don't have that much time to waste!
"The veracity of Adam and Eve?" I don't understand what you mean.

    Note:

QF, I am not dodging your question on science, just haven't decided how I want to answer. Most of my thinking about science has been about what I consider poor or false science. I do plan to respond!
