I think it's a very real possibility that MH370 will never be found, and we'll never know what happened. I think it's a very real possibility that was the intent all along.

"...As investigators continue to analyse satellite data in the hope of finding answers on what happened to Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, an industry expert said the plane spent 23 minutes at up to 45,000 feet – way above its maximum altitude – and rendered everyone unconscious from the lack of oxygen, said a report in British tabloid Daily Mail.

The plane's maximum service ceiling is 43,100 feet, but military radar had tracked the aircraft flying at between 43,000 feet and 45,000 feet shortly after the last communication from its cockpit.

"It was tracked flying at this altitude for 23 minutes before descending. Oxygen would have run out in 12 minutes (in a depressurised cabin), rendering the passengers unconscious," said the source.

An expert said although the 777-200ER Boeing aircraft has a maximum service ceiling of 43,000 feet, it can probably fly safely at even greater heights.

But at that altitude, where the atmosphere drastically thins, it would take mere minutes if not seconds for hypoxia – a lack of oxygen – to set in, said the Daily Mail report.

Oxygen masks would have dropped down, but these only supply between five and 10 minutes of gas....."

Rush Limbaugh read parts of a "report" that Putin's people supposedly put together for him. It mentioned to two Seals that were killed awhile back (which I've heard nothing about since) and that the cargo they were watching was on the flight that disappeared. Have heard nothing of it anywhere in the news.

Suicide doesn't really wash unless they were building up courage - the steward crew supposedly can get into the cabin so I'd think suicide - again - doesn't fit.

Hijack sucessful or failed or a serious malfunction seem best possibles and not sure malfunction fits either as in that length of time you'd think there would be some communication.

My opinion. (licensed pilot for 50 years.)

    1. Electrical fire in cockpit shortly after take off.

    2. All GPS, black box, and communications cut off at same time due to SOP for electrical fire - pull all breakers.

    3. Close each breaker in turn until you isolate the system causing the fire. (Explains why comm systems came back on for a very short time.)

    4. Pilot turned the aircraft toward the closest airport large enough for that type of plane to land. (Explains the change of direction over the south China sea.)

    5. Out of control fire in cockpit or in the cable spreading trays under the floor of the cockpit necessitated climbing to 45,000 to starve the fire of oxygen to put it out.

    6. Fire was too bad, plane was forced to stay at 45,000 feet too long. Passengers and crew succumbed to oxygen starvation.

    7. Plane, on auto pilot, resumed normal flying altitude and continued into the Indian Ocean where it eventually ran out of fuel and crashed at sea.

As that part of the Indian Ocean is one of the deepest places on earth the plane is so far down it may never be recovered.

They may find some debris on the surface, eventually, but even that is unlikely. The Indian Ocean is a BIG empty place. Lots of area to search.

Or they were beamed up to the mother ship by aliens.

Someone in some intelligence agency somewhere knows exactly where the plane is (or was before they blew it up/shot it down), and they have either chalked it up as a "successful mission" in making the plane disappear with whomever or whatever on board they needed to have disappear, or they have eyes on it wherever it is sitting being readied for whatever it was taken for the purpose of doing, and will be dispatched (i.e., blown up/shot down) the moment it moves again, and we will never know about it.

I've never been one to buy into desperate over-reaching conspiracy theories before. However, what I know about aircraft from 20 years in the military as a combat helicopter pilot and a total of 45 years as a licensed pilot (you're not the only one TCass, and unless you flew military aircraft you can't possibly know what the capabilities of military entities or intel communities around the world are) tells me the plane didn't crash. There's way too many "eyes" out there -- despite what they've said about there being a dearth of radar in the southeast Asian region of the world -- for the plane not to have been observed all the way to its destination -- or its final resting place, as the case may be. Couldn't happen.

Were that the case, we would be given authoritative information with no real sources quoted that would put to rest the fate of Flight 370. There is a definitive reason we have not been given that information. I just don't know what it is.
