The other day ago a brother (I think) whom has a passion for Joel Osteen approached me in anger, took me aside, and said I was an arrogant idiot, and that Calvinism is another gospel and he wanted me to go to Calvinist church. His approach and words were unbiblical and I tried to reason with him in gentleness and respect, but it was obvious this man has some strong views of Calvinism, and could not be reasoned with and so I walked away and informed the pastors whom are on my side in this conflict. In the meantime all I can do is pray for this man as Jesus himself said to love your enemies and those that persecute you, of which I am trying to do. But its just so sad why he has to react this way.

We are both in the same SS class and in class discussion when appropriate I make it clear of my views on Total Depravity, God's election, and the other parts of the Doctrines of Grace, however I do not jam my views on anyone, I just share them with conviction, and this seems to bother this man. Sad..

So you are a Calvinist attending a non-Calvinist church? Why?

    A. My wife went there for many years before we were married and refuses to leave.
    B. They are very gracious and kind people whom show Christ's love. NOTE. I have been in Calvinist churches where the pastor was more interested in doctrine than in living out his faith. However not all Calvinist churches are this way.

But the solution is I found a men's study at a local Calvinist church in the area and I involve myself with the men once a week. My wife has okay'd this as our church lacks a men's discipleship group. However I have noticed that me and the men there are very like-minded.

Get thee to a Calvinistic Church then. You do yourself no favors where you are now.

    What Aaron said....

    Or what EWF said...

He's doing no one any good like this, He's causing discord where there was none before.

Yet another "I am right and the victim" threads calculated to disparage those who reject Calvinism. As a lesson on how the Bible teaches us to handle differences with our brothers, it flunks the course.

Calvinism is mistaken doctrine, irrational and incoherent. If God predestines everything then God is the author of sin. Yet each and every Calvinist (except the truthful hypers) will say God predestining us to sin does not make God responsible for that sin. As I said, irrational and incoherent. Sad....

Actually I agreed to meet with the pastor and this brother and settle our differences. However I am not forcing Calvinism on anyone, but my comments in SS are Calvinistic as thats what I am.

Evan I have already traveled down this road. After God convinced me of the truth I tried to share it with my home church and the associational churches. They would not have it. I started out telling them the old fashion altar was not that old but Charles G. Finney brought it into the church. I was accused of trying to throw God out of the church. I stood again free will and preached free grace, they said God don't beat nobody over the head and make him to be saved. I finally left because I was not being fed by what they believed and they would not let me feed them. I feel for you but if you continue to believe the truth it will cost you dearly.

While I would disagree with everything you believe, I agree with everything you said here.

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

You are a Calvinist in a non-Calvinist Baptist church. It ain't gonna work.

Andy can communicate more truth in one sentence than you do in your drawn diatribes.
