….REP WALORSKI: In the past 18 months, since I’ve been a member of Congress, we’ve passed, on the House floor, at least 12 reform VA bills. Mandating the VA to fix different things, mandating the VA to report different things, mandating them to fix their website, bipartisan bills that went to the Senate, and they are DOA on the Senate side

The Indiana freshman went on to say, “We can pass bills all day long here on the House side, but if the Senate doesn’t get in gear and be held responsible and be held accountable for these veterans, it’s not going to work. … These things have been dead on arrival. Harry Reid has not moved one of these bills.”

So when you hear the president and the Democrats in Congress lament the “do nothing Congress” and proclaim their “year of action” in which President Obama will “act if Congress fails to act,” take note that Harry Reid has not brought any of the House VA reform bills to the Senate floor for consideration while veterans are dying as they wait for care…..

This problem began years ago. Why not restore funding to the VA. Congress is responsible for the problems showing up now, but they, of couorse, will blame others.

It was the Senate Dems that stopped the recent Va bill from passing.

Crabtownboy, the leader of the Senate refused to bring up bills passed by the House, so your reply has nothing to do with the O/P. Please start a thread on how republicans voted down bills related to the V.A., and I will look at those links.

And the GOP Senators blocked similar bills. There is guilt all around. Of course the Rep. representative you quote would blame Reid. She certainly is not going to blame the GOP ... the party of No. Now, have you looked into the particular bill he is talking about to see what kind of draconian riders the GOP attached?

The lady cries about passing bills demanding fixes ... but none of the bills supply funds to implement the fixes. The GOP wants to cut more funds and that will only make the matters worse. Of course then they can play more politics and cry about nothing being done. She is simply playing politics.

Reid is in charge. He didn't bring them up for a vote. That's what this thread is about. Start another thread, please, on whatever it is you want to talk about.

Completely, totally, and confusingly off topic.

Everyone knows that there have been no cuts in anything for years. What the argument is about is how large an increase there should be. Why can't Dems tell the truth?

Why do you have to pass a bill to get a hospital to do their job. :BangHead:
