Years ago, and I am talking maybe forty years ago; I attended a conference on social values, mores and coming anarchy!

Well, the speaker was spot on with everything he shared. It's just taken longer than he suggested, and if he's still alive, I am sure he is excited to see things like the political correctness values firmly in place. I'm sure he is ecstatic that tolerance and diversity are moving as if nothing else ever existed in America.

I amsure is relishing in his prediction that hom0se/uals now can marry, adopt children and serve openly in the military!

And I am sure he can see the day that the right to own guns is coming to an end!

Regarding all the above, let me say, he dreaded the day of political correctness, tolerance, diversity, and normalization of hom0se/uals as much as he feared the day he'd have to give up his guns! You see; hemay be excited that these things all came to pass, but he speaking against them and warning those in the conference of the coming of the anti-Christ and things to look for that would precede the one world government.
Now for the guns .... it was his feeling that the use of guns in America would get so out of hand with mass killings in schools, malls, place of business, in the homes of our once peaceful neighborhoods, sporting events, amusement parks and at political rallies, that the majority of Americans would beg the government to adopt legislation to remove, and end, gun ownership!

I fear that this day is closer to being the truth than ever before. With each mass killing, the voice of the people grows louder, and while those who say you will only get my gun from my dead clenched hand, the police, Homeland Security and military have been training and adding the equipment needed to make such a federal operation work, even against the massive protests that will surely take place.

But once they take the guns from homes across America, we will be in line with Europe and other countries, that do not allow private ownership of guns, and that will mean a government takeover of the countries around the world will be easier than ever before, and any resistance will come down to throwing rocks at the military, or hitting them with sticks we find on the ground.

As I watched the uprisings in Eygpt, and recently in the Ukraine, it was evident that gun control put the odds in the favor of the police and military, and out of the hands of the people. ask any German and they will tell you that Hitler imposed gun control, and the rise of the Third Reich was easily put in place!

So when the feds do decide to listen to people who want the NRA out of the way, and guns no longer allowed in our homes ... any uprising will be quickly put down, and we will see [should the Lord tarry] the beginning of the end as the Bible speaks of!

I see it coming ... and I don't care what you say or think! The cries of the people of those innocently gunned down across this country are growing louder, and I believe the feds have wanted this to happen, as it would make abolishing the Second Amendment that much easier and that more popular! If it were to go before the people for a vote [today], it may be close, but like hom0se/ual marriage, the tide of the people is slowly, but surely changing. It will surely happen! And it will happen because it is becoming the will of the people!

And the sad thing is, with each killing, I am even swayed to believe that things will be more peaceful without a gun in every home; even though I know the black market will still bring guns in. But after they take away our guns, only to lawbreakers, which is who are doing the killing now, will find a way to get their hands on one.

I predict the nation will regret abolishing the Second Amendment, but it will be too late after it is done. Sort of like Obamcare! The latest poll shows that 48% don't like Obamacare, oppsed to 24% who like it! Numbers havd dwindled in support of Obamacare, but its here to stay, in one form or another! So will gun control! And it is surely coming; as much as the Lord is coming too!

I was disgusted over the weekend by the father of one of Elliot Rodger's victims demanding guns be outlawed, as though it would have done anything to save his son. The poor idiot doesn't seem to remember Rodger's first three victims were his roommates -- stabbed to death in their apartment. :BangHead:

I just find it interesting that the murderer's father directed a series of films about children killing other children. And now it's coming out that he is a pornographer as well, which may help to explain the murderer's obsession with sex.

I agree. I believe they're crying out, "Why wouldn't you let us protect ourselves!"

Absolutely. "Never let a crisis go to waste."

Depends on how you define "peace", I guess.

I don't think being under the threat of tyranny is "peaceful" at all.

    Agreed!

I have no disagreeements with what your cartoon protrays. I will not give up my guns, I feel more unsafe with each passing news cast! And if someone is going to try to take my property or my life, I am certainly not going to be on the phone calling my insurance agent as the bad guys walk off with what they came for! They will meet lethal resistance at my home! And BTW - I will be praying for them, too!

I thought the same thing. Apparently, those deaths meant nothing.

I'll give him some slack for being a grieving parent, but not for the media who will exploit his tragedy like they are, to get on the anti-gun bandwagon. In this case, we are absolutely correct to point out just as many victims were created with a knife, as with the gun.

How is that blaming the victims? He's simply pointing out that gun laws would not have prevented their murders.

Now this is a blatant case of the exposure of a true liberal doctrine; a guy murders several people, but HE, the killer, is somehow THE victim.:rolleyes:
I call attention to my sig line as being proven!!! (Excluding the parenthetical portion of course!)

O...kay...let's try and read what people actually said rather than what you think they said:

    Thisnumberdisconnected said:

It was quite clear from this that the victim he was referencing was NOT Rodgers (as you seem to think) but one of Rodgers' victims and her father. That to me is a clear case of kicking a victim when he is down and is morally reprehensible, disgraceful and conduct unbecoming of a Christian.

As for the 'liberal' tag, I have no idea what you mean by that as I have voted Conservative all my adult life. I can only assume it is meant as some kind of insult and I shall therefore ignore it as being meaningless.

Matt.....you know this county (USA) thinks very differently about Gun's than does the UK, right? Especially the Bible belt area of the country. Some (Obama) would include Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Yep. I'm well aware of that - and I really struggle to understand it. I particularly struggle when it is Christians who are endorsing the possession of instruments of death - it runs totally counter-cultural to Gospel values IMO.

[But, then, we have our own pro-death culture here too: abortion :-(]

Guns are only tools, like hammers, knives & crowbars. in the wrong hands though they can be what you define them as "instruments of death."

Alcohol & drugs can be used as valued medications but again in the wrong hands, once again instruments of death.

If you & I when out to the corner bar (pub) & sat at a table with a couple of Guinness pints & a few burgers & discussed Christ there are people that would vilify us both but it aint wrong. If I had to express force (which I deplore) to overthrow a tyrant (for example Hitler, Stalin etc) it would not be wrong....though it would haunt me. We are a sinful world....often willingly & we self inflict our own wounds. Thankfully there is Christ to come to the rescue......without him, we would all be lost. HE makes us better & HE forgives & HE is merciful. :godisgood:

I think that the main point of difference re guns is that they are 'tools' whose sole use (outside of the sporting arena) is to inflict injury and death. That is in contrast to all the other things listed by people: cars, alcohol, knives, etc, which don't have death and injury as their reason for use except when abused.

This for me highlights a massive Pond cultural difference: you feel secure knowing you and your neighbours own a gun; I feel secure that neither I or any of my neighbours own a gun which they could use to go on a shooting spree if they feel life is treating them a tad unfairly like Master Rodgers.

So, when those things are used to kill, it's only because they're "abused", but when some idiot liberal decides to go on a shooting rampage with an illegally obtained gun, that's not abuse?

As much as it pains me to agree with Earth, Wind, and Fire, a gun is just a tool. To quote a line from Shane, "A gun is only a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is only as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that. "

Yeah, I agree. Can you just imagine Jesus telling His disciples to go out and sell their cloaks to buy instruments of death to take with them?

    You understand metaphor, don't you?

And your post utterly misses the point about the sole purpose of the gun being to kill, maim or injure. I can't see that as being Gospel values, can you?

You struggle to understand it because you do not know the foundation of it.

It is not the sole purpose and your characterization of guns is rather sophomoric.
